I posted this question a few weeks back, but didn't get any responses. I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me what kind of shopping I can expect on board the Ryndam in Alaska. We won't get much shopping time in the ports, so, I'm curious what I'll find on board and if anything will be representative of our cruising location. We've only cruised Disney before, so, I'm not sure what kind of shops are on HAL.
Thank you.

The shops will feature a good bit of Alaska-themed merchandise: key chains, magnets, shirts, jackets, etc. You will also find lots of Ryndam/HAL logo themed souvenirs. They also have the usual jewelry, fragrances, liquor, cigarettes and such as are found on all HAL ships.

This ship has a very small liwuor store. Shopping is mainly jewelry and HAL themed merchandise. Lots of sales on gold chain, watches, rings, t-shirts and tote bags. Nothing noteworthy.

Very little in the way of Alaskan stuff. There is usually one day (maybe 2) when they will set up a table by the Lido ppol to sell Alaskan sweat ****rs, vests, heavier jackets, binoculars, maps, cups, and a bunch of other junk.
If you are looking for something special, you will have to get in one of the ports.
Best port for shopping is Ketchikan.
(Have been on several Alaskan cruises.)

On our July 16th cruise aboard trhe Ryndam....I did find that they had one night of Russian gifts...lots of nesting dolls etc. Also had special nights for gold and silver chain and jade. Jewelry ad nauseum....but then so did all the towns!!
