Going aboard the Elation in September and I almost can't bear the wait! I am driving my husband crazy...says he can't do this for the next 160 days!! lol
I guess the good news is that it is only 110 working days!
Any thoughts??
Just sign me,

I know what you mean. We cruised last year and my husband would run from me because I drove him crazy with my excitement. We are booking next month for next March '05 and I've already started planning. My DH just shakes his head when I start the chatter of excitement. BUT the planning is ALMOST as much fun as the cruising!!!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

JKD, I'm just like you. All I talk about is the next cruise. I just spend a lot of time reading the boards and searching the internet for information on ships, airfare, ports, souvenirs, etc. We're only a week from boarding the Legend and I'm trying to get everything done without driving myself crazy! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

We have to plan 9 to 12 mos ahead, due to work vacation times.
So it's like have a baby, read boards, study, shopping and pace the floor and dream.

That's a question I ask myself all the time!! I hate the wait!!! Just try not to think about it. Cruise vicariously through these boards, spend lots of time on the internet, etc.

I usually book 5-6 months prior to cruising, and I don't get too excited about it until about 3 weeks before the actual cruise date. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif I'm usually a solo cruiser, so I don't have anybody to 'drive crazy', except my cat.
I think the two weeks before are the best times, full of anticipation and planning. That's when I start filling up one empty dresser drawer with all the little odds and ends I don't want to leave at home.
About two days before - that's when I REALLY get excited!

The time also gets to me - I have been looking at others cruise pictures here at CC and I always get out my photo album and pour through them. This time the wait is really getting to me since I am going RCCL this time and have no idea what to expect at least with Carnival I can go through the entire procedure in my mind and really know what is coming my way - I can picture myself on deck, in the casino, well anywhere on the ship! I do think thisis the worst wait I have had.

Cotton said it best. I LOVE the idea of using an empty drawer to start collecting everything so you dont forget anything important! Thanks for that tip!
I think the anticipation is the best part. Once your vacation starts, you are dreading the time that it's over!

Hi Izzy. That's exactly what I do. I think I would have gone crazy by now, if I had not found this awesome board! I will confess that I have been driving my hubby almost bonkers with everything.
What can I say, just trying to get him as excited about going as I am. And this was his idea to go!
I think he's finally getting the "fever", because now he is talking about little else as we are leaving this Saturday on the Glory.
My best to all,

While all of you ladies are driving your hubby's crazy, it's just the opposite here. I'm driving my wife crazy. She rolls the eyes evertime I get the ole laptop out. "Cruisin again?" she says. I think I could stay on the boards 24/7.
Anticipation is Great!!

I am very fortunate as my DH gets as excited as I do. In 1998, though, we went with two of our daughters and their hubbies and I sent them email cards every few days with "xx" days until we cruise. Fortunately they live in other states so they could not kill me although they said the thought was there. We leave on the Pride in 39 days so it is time for me to start transfering clothes the the "packing closet and drawer".

I usually book the cruise and air 6-10 months in advance than I just get on with my life, the cruise is just one week out of my life. Life is short so enjoy it.

We also have to plan our vacation time way in advance and the waiting does drive me crazy. I spend a LOT of time on these boards, it helps, and about 3 - 4 months before the cruise I start buying the things I'll need to bring on the cruise. I try to get one thing a week. Like one week I might buy film, and the next week shampoo. I put the stuff in a suitcase and I love to see it start to fill up. I love the planning, I drive everyone crazy with it, but it helps fill the time until we get to cruise again!

Plan your excursions, research your ports, check your cruise rates for price drops, watch airfares for big sales, invite your friends and get them excited, and come to CC every day and you'll get through it!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm with caugh!!! I LOVE the anticipation. I love to have this cruise to look forward to and these boards are great because I can talk/read about cruising all I want with people who also eat/sleep/dream cruising!! The thing I hate most is when the cruise is OVER...Now THAT I can't stand!

Well...thank you for all the wonderful tips! I am just having a hard time getting my DH to understand how AWESOME it is. Since he has never cruised before...he doesn't know what to expect. His fav destination until now has been Las Vegas!! THAT he would be excited about. I think he is a little excited (more than he lets on!) but it is more fun to torment me!! I found CC by accident and I am so glad I did! I have read very useful and informative information!
Thanks again for all the responses!
