Cruise Critic gathering

Has anyone organized a Cruise Critic gathering. Have you approached the CD after boarding or tried to do it through ship's services before saling?

I've done it several times.

Those of us on the roll-call thread have agreed on a day/time among ourselves. Then I've called Ship's Services to make the arrangements. They send a request form, which I've completed specifying the day/time and place we want the meeting. The times I didn't get confirmation I called or e-mailed Ship Services. Worked every time!
I brought the confirmations with me to the ship, then re-confirmed the arrangements after boarding.

I've had to give a little "nudge" somewhere along the way just about every time, but things have always worked out beautifully in the end.
