Hello,

Will be sailing the Pride on 5/16. Had my wife's passport ammended from her maiden name to her married name. However they didn't chnage the name on the main identification page, instead they just printed on the last page:

This passport was ammended on 3/28/04 to change the name to (her married name).

Is this the way all name changes are done? I could just see standing in line in mexico or somewhere and show them that and the authorities not accepting it or thinking it was fake. Doesn't look to official in my opinion. Of course, we could always just take the marriage certificate just in case I suppose.

Thanks for any help.

I'm sure it's valid, but if you're wondering about it, you can check out this page and call the toll-free number. Be prepared to wait, though, as it takes a long time to speak to a rep. I waited about 10 mins. once.

Hi,

We just changed my wife's passport and they did the same thing. I agree, it does not look valid. I am glad you posted.
