Hello,
My wife and I are heading out on The Oosterdam on November 11 this year. It is her first cruise and we are both very excited! We were wondering if anyone has experienced the swimming with dolphins....and what port is best for it? I saw that in Cabo San Lucas, the tour is about 1.5 hrs and in Puerto Vallarta it is 3.5 hrs? Why the time difference? The price is the same, do you get more time with the dolphins or is it a long ride from the boat to the swimming with the dolphins?
Regards, 4139

OK, I was having dinner with DH and DS at Chilies this evening and DH asks me if I reread the post I made about the Swim with the dolphins in PV. I siad no I did not, then he tells me:D OMG  talk about starting to laugh and tears running down my face.
So now I am reading this and laughing and crying all at the same time. I think my typing got too fast and I forgot the C :o

Which PV dolphin excursion did you take, the one in the pool that was waist deep or the other trip? How did you like it, we are trying to decide which one :o , My concern is that my wife isnt a great swimmer but she wants the trip that is not in shallower water so I was wondering how deep it actually was? I'd appreciate any info you or anyone else has about it. thanks

DW and I did the dolphin swim in P. V. The whole trip was 3 hrs +/- and we were at the pool for 1 1/2 hours with 1 hour in the water. The pool was probably 9 to 12 ft. deep (to accomodate dolphins) and maybe 50 X 150 ft. We were divided into 4 groups of about 10 people each. our group had 2 trainers and 3 dolphins the entire time. you have totally bouyant life vests. DW is not comfortable in deep water and she was fine. you are also right next to the side of the pool. The best part was when were towed by the dolphins. DW was hesitant but rest of the group cheered her on. She is 68 and I am 62. We were on Princess and went with Vallarta Adventures. www.vallarta-adventures.com
Hope this helps!
P.S. This was the MOST memorable shore excursion of all of our 6 cruises
