I have just booked the Nov. 25th sailing. Is there a DVD player in all the balcony cabins? Would be nice to take some of our own DVDs.
Thanks all. Sweetcat

John remembers there being a nice one in the room (we had a VD cabin). There's also a flat-screen TV.
We just never rented any films so I couldn't recall, but I trust his memory. :) Enjoy.

Are you permitted to bring your own DVDs or do you need to rent them from the ship? I know this is a stupid question, but I've learned that assumptions are the mother of all mess ups. My cruise is over Christmas and I would like to watch some Christmas movies.

Sure you can take your own. Don't think the DVD police will confiscate them (along with the liquor cops). ;)
One of my Christmas faves - Ralphie of A Christmas Story. Love it that TBS or TNT plays it for 24 hours! :D
There's a small rental fee, maybe $3, but that may be waived for suite guests? Any suite pax want to chime in?

Yes, Deluxe Suite guests get free DVD rental from the Neptune Lounge.
My favorite Christmas movie is the original "Christmas in Connecticut" - it even starts with a sinking ship!*:D
(Hmmm, come to think of it, "Poseidon Adventure" was a Christmas-movie of sorts too...)

I hope you have a wonderful trip! It would probably be fun to buy a DVD and have your traveling partner do the same and then exchange for x-mas while on the boat. My DW and I brought 2 dvds on our New Year's curise last year and had so much fun watching them in our room w/ the door ajar listening to the ocen that when in St. Thomas we picked up another.
