For direct information on what the security proceedures are, go to your airlines website. Even the information posted by CruiseCritic under "NEWS" above has incorrect information. (At least as of 2 am on Friday morning, 8/11.)

For example, from the USAirways website (as I emailed CruiseCritic):

According to all that I have read concerning carry on luggage, it is only being restricted on overseas flights to the UK, not US domestic flights.

From the USAirways website:

"Baggage policy for travel to/from the UK
For flights originating in the UK: Effective immediately all carryons are being treated as checked baggage and will not be permitted in the passenger cabin on board. For flights originating in the U.S. to the UK, carry-ons are permitted, but will be screened at security checkpoints."

The rule about carry-ons are clear, and your news item needs to be updated.

Good advice for those flying within the next couple of weeks - check with your airline!!

I wonder how this affects folks with camera bags or laptops. I certainly wouldn't want to put them into checked baggage, You would never see them again.

There is good info on the TSA website for people with disabilities and medical needs. All medical machinery will be allowed on board as carry ons:cool:
