Just trying to find out if anyone has gone on the bus to ensenada from San Diego?
I have received different information.
What time does the bus leave to go to ensenada? I have been told at 5 is the first bus, and then I have been told it was 3.
Can someone please help.
We are on Carnival Spirit to Hawaii on April 18. We are staying in San Diego for a few days before the cruise. So any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you derf5585, but I was looking for anyone that had gone on it with carnival.
They tell me it is a 2 to 2.5 hr bus ride and they don't start the buses until 5:00 pm. I want to get to ensenada sooner. I wanted info on the time frame.
Thanks again

I'm going on that cruise also, and my TA was told by carnival that buses would start leaving the San Diego airport at noon. I am not sure exactly what will happen. I told her about what I read on the boards. I still never looked inside my docs to see if they put that piece of paper saying what they will do. I did of course check to make sure my docs were right and they were but I never looked in the back of them for a sheet of paper with instructions. Maybe I should look at them tonight. Either way, I soppose we go to the pier and sign in and then go to Ensenada? I am just unsure of how it will work. I have heard so many different scenerios. OH well, I am just going with the flow and as long as I am on the ship, all is well!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

SSSkipper, I didn't get a slip a paper in my docs either, but I have read alot of things and I called the bus and they told me that they didn't start going to ensenada until 5:00. I would like to get on the ship as soon as possible.

I would also like to get on the ship ASAP to enjoy the first day! But I am just not sure what will happen. If I find anything else out, I will be sure to post it. I booked an early flight in order to get to the ship early, but now we may have to wait. If I knew for sure, I would have booked a later flight. I am sure it will all work out. I would think they would want us there earlier than later. I'll call my TA and have her call Carnival again and see if she can find out the real story here! I'll keep you posted if I hear anything!

SSSkipper,
There's a group of us on the Carnival roll call thread going on this cruise if you want to get some more info. I think we'll try to meet up with everyone if you're interested.

The one thing we all need to remember is......the ship is sailing from San Diego to Ensenada on the 18th (without us) http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
So, we need to keep in mind that the Spirit is not scheduled to arrive in Ensenada until sometime early evening. This means, even if you got to Ensenada earlier, there would probably be not ship to board. That means you would need to drag your carry on luggage around Ensenada while you were waiting for it to be ready for us. So, in the long run it is actually better that we are hanging out in San Diego.

okay, I hope this helps a little.
i did this cruise in 2002 and this is what we did.
we arrived in san diego at the airport where a bus takes you to the convention center to check in for the cruise.there is a slight wait and carnival gives you $15 for lunch on your sail and sign card when you board the ship.
not sure when the buses for Ensenada leave but they left from the convention center and took you to the ship in ensenada it is about a 2 hour or so drive.
(note on my cruise they had a bus driver strike so Carnival had to pull many rabbits out of their hat to pull it all off and we wound up waiting till 1:00 am to catch my bus) this shouldnt happen to you.
once you get to the ship you do your ss card for the security picture and go on board like normal.
you will enjoy the first 5 days at sea a lot it might start out just a tad windy on the top decks but it will change.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me, email me by the link or look at my webshots for the spirit by the cruise picture link in there are the capers(we went to lahaina in maui instead of Kahalui.

Rhino, Thanks for the info. I actually did sign on the second page of the roll call. I haven't looked at it much since. I have been pretty busy! Looking forward to this Sunday! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
