I had heard that HAL was offering a bus transfer from Long Island to New York harbor for Noordam passengers.
1. Can anyone confirm this please?
2. Can you tell me where it leaves from?
3. How do a get a transfer voucher?
Thank you for any info.

Hi Mary,
I had the same question so I called Hal up. They said the don't offer transfer to the pier from LI. You may want to rent a car return it in the city, rent a Limo or park at the Pier. Not sure that there are any other options. Anyway thats what I'm going to check out.

We're from Brightwaters and when we sail from the West Side Terminal we always drive to and park at the pier. No problem with security at the pier; we've left a late model luxury SUV there 4 times in the last two years without incident. It's easier when you sail on a weekend to get into the city and across town, but unless you're sailing on a day when 3 ships are departing, the traffic at the pier is not bad. It's easy in but even more importantly it's easy out. When you return you'll really appreciate having your car 5 minutes away.

I have cruised out of NY a few times and never heard of a bus from the Island.
I opt for LIRR to Penn and cab to pier. It works for me and round trip total is under $50.00.
A Limo/town car would cost about $250.00 R/t.
Parking, I believe, once over a week, is a monthly rate and in the high 100's the last time I checked. May be more now.
Limo service is most convenient.
Parking convenient also - but you must have someone to stay will your luggage until you retrieve your vehicle or you wlll be bringing you luggage the 5-10 minute walk with you. In January - you could experience snow or ice on the ground.
Train - good choice for those able like myself that travel alone and can handle my own luggage. I would not choose this with children or travelers with mobility challenges. Do not purchase heavy items on the cruise that you can not carry along with your luggage.
