We have been of 5 Disney cruises and are thinking about booking the Oct 7 night Eastern over Halloween this year. I have been searching and can not find any reviews of past cruisers for Halloween.....
We are a family of 5. Three boys ages 8, 6 and 2. The only thing DCL will tell me is that I will be emailed a itenerary of the different activities that will go on after I book. And they said something about trick or treating....
Has anyone done the 7 day Halloween cruise? What special activities go on? Is the entire ship decorated with cob webs and stuff the entire time? Is there anything overly spooky?
I appreciate any comments. This is our childrens first Halloween they are celebrating and I want to make it special and it would be fun to do it Disney style.

I havnt done Halloween on the ship, but at the parks it is NOT too spooky. It is even called Mickey's not too scary halloween. I believe the ship would be the same. disney is very good about NOT scaring kids at halloween.
I will do some searching the next few days and see if I can find out anything for you, I may know someone who has done this a couple years back, but must check with them to make sure.

Hi again,
i did get in contact with a couple of people who have cruised on the Wonder over Halloween. both said there was minimal trick or treating for the kids. some activities in the kids club, but the costume party was for adults around the goofy pool.
Most kids were in costume at dinner and Mickey and Minnie were in costumes for pictures in the atrium that night.
These people posted on the dis boards and they said they got together with other cruisers on the same cruise and arranged their own trick or treat for the kids. The had a layout of all the rooms they had and they made special signs to go on the doors and the kids trick or treated all the dis board peoples doors. some brought candy, others small trinket toys. A few parents escorted the little kids. They set an hour after all the dinners were over for this activity and all said it was a BIG hit, but the credit goes to the parents Not Disney.
hope this helps some.
I know you can goolge search to find navigator paers too, maybe you could find a halloween one and check out the activities listed for yourself. If I see the site for this I will post it for you.

Thank you very much for your help!! I am excited about it..... I just called Disney today. We are not telling our kids until the drive down......That sounds fun about pairing up with other cruisers for a cabin trick or treat! Thank you for anything you find!

We're sailing on the Halloween cruise as well - with kids 8,6,4. I spoke with a disney rep who said there was a costume contest and trick or treating for kids. Given that Halloween falls on the night of the pirate party (luck, I guess), just about everyone should be in costume. I really wasn't planning on getting a costume for myself (or any of the 6 grown-ups in our party) but after seeing some of the pictures on this board, I'm beginning to wonder...

I am still debating if the adults are going to dress up.....I went on one of the first Magic cruises after they changed the Tropicalafragalistic to the Pirate Night and hardly no one dressed up...not even the kids...but it seems like now everyone does!
Our kids don't want to be pirates for Halloween, but it is such an easy costume to get together for adults...I am thinking we may do that...I think I will feel awful funny, but hey! Its Disney!

I saw a copy of last year's halloween navigator - they had trick or treating on board for the kids from 4:30 to 5:30. Not huge - maybe 10 stops around the ship. Given that this halloween is our St. Maarten day, not sure what they will do.
As for dress up, some friends bought me a pirate costume for my birthday; the kids are going as pirates (DS) or pirate princesses (DD's). My wife says she will not dress up - she'll be the odd one out I guess. ;)

Your wife won't be the odd one out because I (your devoted sister-in-law) will not dress up either. LOL!!!:o
