Would like to do the Southern Caribbean (Aruba).
How does Carnival compare to the Princess line. I've been on Carnival three times, thought about trying another line. Could I please have your humble opinions. What did or didn't you like? This would help me to make a decision.
Thanks

Both good lines but both different experiences.
In many ways its as unfair to compare the two as it is apples to oranges.
We did our first Princess cruise last month and loved it...in a different way.
Our previous cruise was on the Carnival Legend, the second time on that ship, and we loved it too...in a different way.
Here's all about our experience on the Golden Princess last month:

and here's more on Princess in general:

Also, what mean this: <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> To much " TT" for me <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Chris.......
You do know what "TT" is......remember the words that you got so many responses for using.....LOL...I'm too afraid to say it....pretty sad huh??
Personally I thought that I had coined the term "TT" when trying to describe a girl to my girlfriend.....a person who just happened to live in a certain "park" atmosphere.....
Guess I am not as "cool" as I thought I was.

BenCruzN:
I have been on several lines; including Carnival and Princess. I think its like comparing apples to oranges. My first Princess Cruise was the original Pacific Princess and I was still looking for Doc and Goffer when I got off.
To me, Princess is more laid back, and less gawdy. I prefer Princess because it still has the formalities that I enjoy, while still being relaxed.
I enjoyed Carnival when I wanted to strictly party and stay all geared up, but when I want to really enjoy cruising, I stick with Princess. I am booked on Princess in October and Carnival in 2005.

I always choose Princess over Carnival unless there's a special circumstance. Last year I went on a theme cruise on the Carnival Victory and it was OK. Princess is always nicer for me. Now, it depends on what you like. Princess is much more sedate and there usually isn't as much nightlife.

It couldn't hurt to try another line...
I wish I could try every one of them and get back to you with my opinion on each...that would be a fun job....a true cruise critic!

I've cruised RCL and Majesty (ship now owned by NCL), and honestly, they were both great. A few differences, but none that would have prevented me from cruisng those lines again. I'm going on my first Carnival cruise in less than a month, and I'm sure this one will be great in its own unique way!
That said, I wouldn't hesitate to book a Princess cruise. I personally think life is too short to stick with one cruise line. Go for it!

I agree with the mojority in that they are quite different.
I personally think that Princess ships hold people better than Carnival. There is ample deck space with more than enough deck chairs (no waking up at 7 to save chairs). There are 24- hour, fresh water pools and you can do PC dining if you';d like which is a big draw for me. I hate being told when to eat. I am in the process of booking a Princess cruise (16 days) for next week and have another one planned in Oct (11 days). So something must be right for me if I am planning on spending 25 nights on the line this year.
