I looked on the bestprice cruise site, they have great prices. I noticed that Jan prices were a little lower than Feb, which is when we would like to go. Is it because of spring break in Feb. We were once in Cancun during the beginning of spring break. That was a mistake. We just didn't think they would come so early. Anyway, don't you have to be a certain age to cruise alone?

No,no big spring breakers in Feb.You may have some, but most spring breaks are in March, and Easter breaks towards April.Schools do all sorts of things now,and there can be school out during any time.Prices are MUCH higher during spring break times.Feb is still a slower cruising month.

Some people will cruise during Presidents week since schools are closed in some areas.

Also in January Luther kings birthday is a big cruising week.

President's week is a big school vacation week. We didn't know that for our cruise in Feb. this year. Although there weren't tons of kids on the cruise, we won't cruise during that week again. I had read there were some ships that had upwards of 500-600 kids that week.

Anyone 21 or over can cruise alone. My husband and I are 22 years old and we cruised during his college spring break March 7-14. I can say though that there were not many "typical Spring Break college students" on the Paradise because it's non-smoking.

On Carnival you cannot cruise alone until 25 UNLESS you are married as in Vanessa's case of her and her husband being 22. Otherwise, someone 25 years old (as in chaperon) has to be part of your party for you to cruise -- they do this to cut down on the college spring breakers. But as everyone has stated a lot of schools have President's Week in February off and this is a big cruising week.

Check out Tef43's link. It clarifies some wrong information given by a previous poster regarding the age requirement.

Thanks tef43 and carnivalcruisejunkie -- my memory MUST be going http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I really seemed to remember it that way when I was typing but when I went to the link I did one of those 'hit my head I could have had a v-8' - and remembered the age policy correctly -- sorry if I cause any confusion.

I just need to go ahead book a cruise and get on with life. Kids, nor crowds bother us so, I guess it does not matter when I go. I was just wondering why the pricing was so different. I'M READY NOW (once I make up my mind).
