I did the search and it didn't work and I remember reading the info here on the board but never wrote it down, cause I didn't think I would need it.

I need to contact CCL should I write snail mail, e mail or call them? Which would be best and could you included the addresses.

Thanks so much!!!!

I e-mailed Carnival a couple of months back.I went to their website. You can only do this though if you recently sailed as they want your booking # and the e-mail won't go through without it.

They did not even read it though because I was talking about Inspiration and the smoking and non smoking lounges and how everytime I went in the Lido bathroom it was filled with smoke etc.

Anyway they sent me a letter saying they were sorry but Paradise would not be non smoking anymore and then said they would give me 10% off my next cruise even if I book it at a special deal I get 10% off extra. Hey, I am glad for the discount but they did not address what I e-mailed them about. So I can't help but wonder if they read those e-mails. But, hey go ahead and contact them-who knows maybe they will offer you a discount also.

From the Carnival Web site FAQ:

Can I receive phone calls onboard?

Friends and family may call guests onboard via Maritime Telecommunications Network (MTN) Shore-to-Ship telephone service. The rate is $9.50 per minute from the United States; additional long distance charges may apply from outside the United States.

The caller needs to have available the ship name and the guest's name. The charges will be applied to the caller's credit card: MasterCard - Visa - American Express - The Discover Card - Diner's Club. 1-877 CCLSHIP (1-877-225-7447) from the U.S. 1-732-335-3284 from Canada and outside the U.S.

If it's an emergency, I suppose it'd be worth it.

livtojump,

We ended up having to use tenders to get to Cozueml. It was a major mess. I will have all the details in my review. To sum it up quick and simple we waited about 2 hours in a hall on deck 4 to get out in the morning and we waited 3 hours to get back on the ship in the hot, very hot Cozumel sun. We got in line at 4:30 last tender was at 5pm and never got on the ship till 7:30.

Why did you have to use the tender. We were on Inspiration in Dec. and we didn't at Cozumel. We did at Grand Cayman and Belize and I thought it took forever to get to the dock in Belize.

Maybe that is why the tender was so bad as it is not normal. Anyway as I said I complained about the lounges my favorites all being smoking and the nonsmoking lounges having no entertainment and they sent me a 10% discount. I don't think they read my whole e-mail because the idiots thought I was talking about Paradise but they did give me that discount for a future cruise. Your complaint is a lot worse then mine was- so you sould get something.

I wrote Carnival a three page letter last week to the address 3655 NW 87th in Miami. I mailed it April 9th & received a phone call from them yesterday 4/14. Now that's what I call amazing service!
Liz was wonderful, she told me she had read the letter and asked me to fill her in on some of the details of our 3/21 Pride cruise . I'd broken my nose onboard and had some major problems regarding the poor service from the Pursers station regarding my accident as well as concerns for future passengers with the floor to ceiling panels in the Starry night lounge. (They need to etch or put some stickers on them).
Liz was extremely polite & concerned on the phone about my accident and overall I felt like someone at Carnival was FINALLY listening to me.
If you need to contact Carnival, I suggest you write to that address.

Hate to be a nay sayer but why would you want to complain to Carnival about the use of tenders?? They don't control the port. If the port scheduled too many ships at one time - why is that Carnivals fault?? Just a question...

<<did the poster 'want' something from CCL>>

Yes I want them to address the poor performance with the Pride Pursers desk, I want an apology for their rudeness and I want CCL to put some stickers/or etch the glass on those floor to ceiling glass panels at the Starry Night Club so another passenger doesn't walk into them & end up with a broken nose and two black eyes like I did.
I had my accident on a Tuesday night. I'd seen the doctor and CCL security about the incident and filed a report.
Friday night I walked by the Starry Night Club again & was surprised to see nothing had been done yet. So I went back to the Pursers desk and asked Branslav about it.
He told me nothing would be done about the windows since the accident was my fault-- He told me it wasn'CCL fault that I'd walked face first into a glass panel. He looked straight into my eyes and said "It's your fault Mrs. K, this has NEVER happened to anyone else before, you are the first."
I told him I really doubted that.
Then I was vindicated. Inside a shop the next day a CCL saleperson asked me what had happened to my face. When I told him he said he'd done the same thing at Starry Night himself. When I mentioned to him that Branslaav (the Purser) told me it had never happened before he said, "He lies"
Then to top it off, I swear to god this is the truth. Saturday night my husband and I are sitting on a sofa outside the Starry Night watching karoke when a guy walks around the corner and BAM he runs face first into the same panel. He bounces back rubs his face and walks away feeling embarrassed.
Then the people sitting next to us said "that's the second person we've seen do that in the last 15 minutes."
Unbelievable!!
So my letter to CCL asks them to fix the darn glass panels before something worse happens to another passenger.
I had a broken nose, a gash across the bridge of my nose & two black eyes.
It's a no brainer. The Pride has the same floor to ceiling panels surrounding the jacuzzi in the SPA. These panels have gold circle stickers at eye level, giving them some depth.
How hard would it be for CCL to take 15 minutes and do the same thing on the panels at the Starry Night Club?
The gold stickers looked classy & they'd save another person from having to deal with a "black & blue" vacation like I did.
Sorry about the rant.

Carnival did not handle this situation at all for the following reasons:

1. the problem was due to mechanical problems identified between 7-8am... they had all day to form a contingency plan. there was none.

2. when leaving and reboarding the inspiration, the sail and sign cards are passed through carnivals computers, so they know who and how many passengers are ashore and onboard at any time... they should have known and prepared for this as early as 3pm.

3. if the contingency for some reason could not include additional taxi vessels, then at 3pm carnival could have began to prepare for the safety and comfort of their passengers waiting on the dock by sending out a shade canopy for the sick or elderly, water and a doctor.

4. absolutely no communication was provided. things may not have gotten ugly if someone from the ship was at the dock explaining what was happening and what to expect. instead, we were just left out there! this is where i feel our cruise director, marichal, dropped the ball big time! he provided information on the ship and when things did not go as planned, it seems like he hid under the covers. if there was communications, we would have headed back out to the town and gotten a few beers, cokes, and a bite to eat in one of the many watering holes in cozumel and returned later in the afternoon.

5. the taxi that we got on headed back to the insiration about half full. i was told the passengers were limitted due to the number of life jackets on the vessel. now, where could thye have found more life jackets hiding on a cruise ship... hmmm. again, carnival jsut operated as if things were operating normally, no change in plan, no contigencies, no reaction to special circumstances. that is where they failed.

6. $25 per person was a nice touch ($100 bucks for my family), but they could have avoided that expense and bad feelings (did you see the riot in the atrium that evening?) if they had a plan of action.

now, i don't do this for a living, so i'd expect carnival to have better plans for special circumstances at sea or in port than i could imagine. so that make me wonder if it was lack of planning on carnival's part, or poor execution on the part of the captain and crew of the inspiration...

I copied this from anoither post that someone wrote that was on the same cruise as me 04-04-04. He saids it all in this post not much more for me to add except one thing. Why didn't CCL use thier life boats if needed?

Hi- it's been nearly a year since I was here last but I just had to come back and give everyone an update on the Pride. We just returned from our second Pride cruise last Sunday and I can't tell you how happy I was when I walked by the Starry Night Club the first evening onboard and found that my three page letter to Carnival last year had actually paid off.
Every glass panel at the Starry Night has been etched at eye level and looks beautiful. The frosted etching looks classy and hopefully will prevent any future passengers from having their cruise vacation spoiled because of an accident like mine.
Kudos to Carnival for taking action on this and listening to their passengers.
This goes to show if you want REAL action go straight to the corporate offices in Miami with your concerns and don't mess around with Carnivals smarmy pursers desk.
