We will be up on the Panarama deck for the Conquest cruise (cabin 1043). We still need the information on the Mardi Gras cruise that you're planning. We want to make sure that we're in for that one. Make sure to meet us early enough on May 2nd so that we can change our current dinner seating assignments. I think that Sharon and I are going to leave the ship soon after we board and go down to the quarter for awhile before we set sail. We are going to try to arrive for embarkation around 10:30 or 11:00 on Sunday.

This might be one of those cases where an upgrade really *isn't* an upgrade. I'm thinking I'd rather have kept the inside 4G if the alternative was only a 6A. The proximity to the Lido outweighs the OV, but that's *my* opinion, YMMV.

Regardless of the cabin and its location, enjoy!

We received our doc's 2 weeks ago,that's when we found out about the 4G.To some maybe moving down on the ship is not an upgrade but the fact remains that there is about a $175.00 per person difference from what we booked to the Oceanview cabin we are in.So it will be nice to have a view.

You'll definitely feel less motion being way down there.

DH and I love cabins on the Riviera deck because of not feeling motion. On the Legend we booked a 1A and were given a 3 category upgrade. We ended up on a high floor and boy did we feel the motion. We don't get seasick but the motion gets old.

I think your upgrade is good.

Sounds good...I've never played the upgrade game. But thinking about it someday. If I hadn't booked on one day sale day that we got a 6d for the 6a price we prob. would have went for a guarantee. My Brother-in-law did 4a guarantee for our upcoming cruise so I'm very interested to see what he gets.

We're on the Glory next month and originally booked inside guarantees. Last month called to check prices -- my SIL's balcony price dropped a great deal (and received the lower rate), but the insides didn't drop that much. BUT, my TA got all the insides upgraded to 4G -- insides on the Panorama deck. I was so excited to be up there that we went ahead and had our cabins assigned, rather than take 4G guarantees and risk being upgraded! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I do agree though, that having a window is great. I'm sure you'll enjoy it! Did you get a cabin assignment or a guarantee for the 6A?

Congratulations! We just found out the other day that we are booked in a 4G on the Panarama Deck for Thanksgiving (from a 4A). I took advantage of the one-day sale. This will be our 3rd cruise but first one having an inside room. I guess I was a fool not to book the outside room since it was on sale. We were on the Riviera Deck in February and really liked it. We were close to the elevators and stairs. We took the stairs a lot. I just hope that the Panarama Deck won't be as bad that week.

Have fun. The Conquest is wonderful. Don't miss The Point, and the ice cream machine is addicting.

To this day, I haven't been able to figure out what the fascination is at being on the upper decks????? http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif Why do cruise-lines charge so much more for same type of room at a higher level where you could be subjected to more noise or more of a possibility of sea-sickness? As long as you have elevators, what does it matter if you have to ride up another couple of levels?

We sail on our 30th anniversary cruise on the Conquest on 6/6/04 and are very excited about our 2 ocean-view staterooms for our family on the Riviera Deck.

Not sure, but maybe it has to do with the views from higher decks when pulling into port cities or at sea?

All I can say, is that if my theory is correct, we have been upgraded from 8A all the way to 8D on the Lido Deck, and I'm happy with that. I'd prefer to be near the pool, inside or outside!
