westerdam 4013

We have been assigned cabin 4013 on the Westerdam for our November 12 sailing. Never been on HAL before. Any imput about the location of this cabin, its amenities, etc. Checked the HAL website and found the cabin location. It's on the starboard side near the front but can't tell much about the cabin. Any info will be appreciated !

Hi Tootiesmom,
If you haven't been on the HAL website, go there and click on Our Fleet heading. Choose the ship from the menu and then choose tour. There will be icons of public rooms and some cabin categories. If your cabin isn't listed choose a sister ship and you'll find the full sweep of the cabin tour, you can zoom in or out, or pause the movement.
There are other websites but i can't remember them right now. You can also order the brochure of the itineraries (Caribbean, Europe, Alaska etc) or download a copy from the website for pix and deck plans of your ship.

That cabin has a metal railing instead of a plexiglass one, which means you won't see the water if you are sitting on the balcony. We learned this after we booked one near you and have switched to a higher category. If we're going to pay for a balcony, we want to see the ocean.

Thanks ! That's just the kind of info I'm looking for :) We have a "guarantee" booking and our TA put in our info for an upgrade if one will be available. Maybe we'll get lucky ;)

Hi Tootiesmom...

My husband and I are sailing on the Nov. 12 sailing of the Westerdam as well. We are also in a balcony guarantee but chose VE rather than VF because we didn't want the the solid steel verandah railing. We're also hoping for an upgrade! :)

Glad you're getting a "view" balcony ! My TA called with a deal we couldn't resist for our 1st HAL sailing, so we'll take whatever..... Have you been on HAL before? There will be 3 of us (we're leaving our husbands at home :cool: ) taking our 1st girlfriends getaway. A lot of 1st's for this cruise, huh???

Hope to find out alot about HAL on this board, especially the Westerdam.
