We're goint out on the Pride May 16. How does Carnival handle time changes, does the ship change to local time or keep ship time? I'm trying to figure times for excursion schedualing. Thanks

On Sunday night you will be told to set your clocks 1 hour forward which will put you at the same time as Mazatlan and Cabo but PV will still be 1 hour off. On Friday you will be told to set your clocks 1 hour back.

SO the ship time will match Mazatlan and Cabo after we set our watches ahead, but will be 1 hour behind local PV time? If the itenerary says we get into PV at 9am-will it really be 10am? We had this problem in the Grand Caymens with nothing being said about time changes on board-when our ride didn't come for an excursion we then found out we were waiting an hour early. At least it was early and we didn't miss anything but a leisurly breakfast!

Hi Celia,
Yes, Sunday night after sailing, they have you turn your watches/clocks ahead one hour. And then Friday night (after leaving Cabo), you set your watches back.
Here's a quick schedule:
Long Beach = Pacific Time
Puerto Vallarta = Central Time (Pacific Time -2 Hours)
Mazatlan & Cabo San Lucas = Mountain Time (Pacific Time -1 Hour)
Sunday Night: Turn clocks ahead 1 hour (now Mountain time)
Wednesday: Puerto Vallarta (Ship time is one hour BEHIND PV time. For example, ship time = 10am, PV time = 11am)
Friday Night: Turn clock back 1 hour (now Pacific time)
Hope that helps! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
