We are boarding Statendam in Sydney on 10 November 2006for cruise to Auckland. We are travelling independently to Sydney and would like to know at what time of day (earliest) we could board the ship. Anyone help ?

Hi,

Was on it last March from Sydney. Boarding begins at noon. It was a bit haphasard but they have a new ground agent this year. Great ship.

I doubt that I can be as much help as jig in that the last time we did the Sydney to Auckland cruise (in 2003) we were on the Prinsendam and boarding did not start until 1:30 p.m. That boarding was pretty haphazard also but that was because some of the computers were not working.

One thing though - the Statendam is a great ship and the cruise you have chosen is a really nice one. Have a ton of fun.

A suggestion if I may....Try a room at the Hyatt hotel...We got to watch Prinsendam come in to tie up and the Bell hop took us the 2 blocks to the terminal entrance in the Hyatt limo.....Great experience! This is a small terminal at the "Rocks" but very convenient. We came into it last November on the Amsterdam and everything went very smoothly.

Tulip9 we will be one of the smiling people waiting for you to leave "our cabin" so we can get on the ship in Auckland on the 24th. Have a great cruise.
