My documents for The Voyage of the Spammed (Zaandam 10/7/06) arrived today! Yippee!!! :)
Think I'll start the celebration with a cocktail, then dance 'til I drop! :D Maybe put a chocolate on the pillow to complete the mood. ;)

Ruth, no matter how many times we've sailed it is always a thrill to get those docs!!
Hope you and all the others have a ball on that cruise. I know that Longtimecruiser is looking forward to going too as well as all the others.
Wish you were going with us on 1/6/07 Noordam cruise but that's probably too soon after this one.
Will be thinking of you and hope you will post from the ship as you always do!

Ruth--I'm dancing with you--or I think maybe I am.
We are on our first Celebrity cruise and our TA called for us to pick up our docs--I think the one page in the shore excursion booklet that tells us to go online labeled cruise document is the dance indicator. I want the pleather!!!! I want luggage tags and silly pins and Mariner labels!!! I want to be able to bring wine on board!!!!
Okay--I'm dancing with you (I think).

You are very lucky indeed.:D :D :D
We've not yet received our documents as of yet for our 9/28 Transatlantic on the Noordam yet, but our TA assures us they are on the way.

John, those chocolates look really good:p I guess it is low calorie enough to just drool over the picture right;)
I have been really good on my diet and have actually dropped a couple of sizes from what I was when I went to Alaska.

Good for you Lisa! No worries; they're strawberries, one of the major food groups!;)

"Oh Happy Day" Ruth,
I'm going to be on the Zaandam right after you get back to San Diego and I am just praying that the ship is not out of chocolate, thanks to someone whose name will not be mentioned (but it starts with Ruth:D).
Have a great, great cruise and congratulations ahead of time for your Silver Medallion Award.
Aloha,
Valerie:)
p.s. I could have been on that "Dam" cruise also if I had not just done it on the Amsterdam this past New Year's - stupid, stupid, stupid!

While I stop to change the record on the Victrola I'll take a moment to say "thanks" to all the rest of you vicariously joining me on the dance floor.
Oh, Valerie, I received the medallion on the Alaska cruise in July. It was kind of funny as I'm used to being the youngster on those longer cruises. I was the dowager this time.

hi ruth, me and dw are sailing the same day on the oosterdam and hearing that you received your docs only increases the anticipation and excitement of our first ever cruise. we have always been one of those "next year, we'll take a real vacation" couples, for various reasons, mostly work related or because we've had to work on the house. well, "next year" is October 7th and we have been acting like little kids since we booked in February. The excitement is killing us. congrats and smooth sailing.

Chocolate Martini[FONT=Comic Sans MS]
If you love chocolate and cocktails you must try this great drink!
As I was scrolling through this thread, I was looking for my receipe for chocolate martini as this is exactly what Ruth needs to celebrate. I am not, by any means, a martini lover, but this is one drink that hits the spot and this receipe is better than the one I have so maybe I will join you and have one myself.

hammerinfrank, you enjoy that "first" cruise! And make sure it's the first of many. As I learned all too well, one day "next year" doesn't come.
I swore off vodka years ago (too sneaky), but that chocolate martini sounds well-behaved. ;) I could stop dancing long enough to sip a little.
Or a lot.

Congratulations! Shimmy and shake to your heart's content. Re: Victrola - my parents had an old one in the living room when I was a child, I remember them cranking it up in the evenings, but they threw away when my Dad brought home a "Hi Fi" as a Christmas surprise one year. Did I just date myself? Enjoy your dance, and your chocolate martini.
Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

I'm Doc Dancing in Ohio!! USPS delivered my docs this morning. They were mailed 8/17. Great service by USPS, I'd say. Marine blue cloth wallet with allover HAL logo is much classier than the satiny one they used several years ago.

Ruth-I'm glad that you're doc arrived so early. I'm dancing with you and my cruise isn't until Feb.
John-looking at that picture made my mouth water, than finding out they were strawberries made it worse. (I feel like one of my dogs. drooling all over the place.)
Take care,
Pat.
