Sailing in August

This is our first time cruising, because of our childrens sport, work and school schedule this is the only time we have. Are the boats usually filled up in August? Do you think the rate will drop or is this a popular time for people to travel? We also booked our room as a guarantee, hoping for upgrades.

Sailed Conquest last Aug and it was FULL! Higher prices because that is the only time lots of families can travel for the exact same reasons you state. (Us too)
We booked a 4a guarantee and ended up as a 6a. It was great but i undersatnd now we were VERY lucky. This time we booked a 6a as we did not want to be disappointed without a window.

Yes August is peak time because of the school schedules in most states. It will be full...especially the triples and quads.

FYI Rates have climbed $100pp since I booked this August trip in January.

Really would depend on what week in August. The first three will be very crowded and the last week leading up to Labor day weekend is so-so. Lots of schools are back in session by this time and you can surely get good rates for that week.
