docs questions?

I received my docs on yesterday for my May 16 cruise on the Fantasy. The only thing that was wrong is that they had me in a cabin and I was on a guarantee, when I called they assured me that I was on a guarantee and that the documents were mistaken, and when i get to the pier to get new luggage tags. I found out they had me in a specific room a couple of days ago and thats when we found the mistake although they fixed it in the computer and it reflects it on the website should i be worried?

So what you are saying is that there was a cabin number on your documents? What that means is that you may have booked a guarantee category, but that your cabin HAS already been assigned, to the cabin number on your docs. So, that's your cabin. They may tell you that the cabin number could still change, but there is a 99.5% chance that it will not. What they said was that one of the pvps accidently put me in a assigned cabin, but that I am still on a guarantee and that is not my cabin.

I'd be willing to bet you $100 that when you get to the port, that will be your cabin.

For future reference, the people on the phone at Carnival usually have no idea what they are talking about.

PVP's don't "accidentally" assign cabins. There are many instances where people have booked guarantee cabins, and their docs have arrived with a cabin assignment. For some reason, it freaks the people out at Carnival when we start questioning about our guarantee cabins. Their standard answer is "we don't know anything, you are booked in a guarantee, you will be assigned AT THE PIER. But, if you ask anyone who has gotten their "guarantee" documents with a cabin number on it, I think that 95% of them are actually assigned that cabin. Does that make sense??

Is it possible you could get another cabin? Possibly. But, it's not likely.

I just read what you wrote about it "reflecting on the computer", so does it now appear that they put that cabin back into inventory??? That is very strange. I apologize if I misled you, my bad.

When I did a quarantee I got my cabin assignment in my documents.
Some people Do get assigned before sailing and others get it at the pier.

What kind of cabin did they stick you in compared to what you booked?
