This is my first time on a cruise. I have commited to my Roll call that I will host the sail away party...I NEED SUGGESTIONS!!! I also have questions...

I do have a suite with a balcony in the back of the ship. So far we have a small party.

Everybody is really nice and have told me that they would bring some wine (or was is Champagne)...

I would like to order hor'dourves. Any suggestions on what I should serve? How do I find out what they offer and the price for the food??

I originally was going to bring my favorite Champange Perrier Jouet, but reading some threads I'm kinda confused as to if I am allowed to bring this on the ship.. We sail in October to the Mexican Riveria on the Oosterdam..

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks:D

I agree--

Ship Services will help you order platters of food, etc.

For shipboard parties, order half to 1/3 as much as you think you'll need - there's plenty of food elsewhere on the ship and folks dont need to worry about driving...

Wine/Champagne is allowed so you can bring your Perrier Jouet on board.
:)
Liquor and beer is not permitted.

For the party i hosted this past winter, i did not worry about ordering a head of time, but what i did was once i was on board (around 1pm, i went to the Neptune Lounge and asked them to help me set up a sail away party. They brought TONS of appitizers, napkins, toothpicks, glasses and any wine, etc that i wanted. It was very easy and they were right on time bringing it to my cabin!

I also set the "mood" by utilizing our laptop/ipod to have soft music on in the background!
We had a great time. :)

We had a great time. :)What a fun idea; we have always just agreed to meet in one of the small bars or someplace like that. NMNita
