Pirate Night

Can someone give me info on what the pirate night is all about. New to disney and cruising 9/23/06 and looking forward to getting away. Thanks for your help everybody.

We really like Disney, and while we haven't attended a Pirate Night yet, it is pirate themed for dinner and then there is a pirate deck party and I believe a buffet after the party. Many people from the DIS boards dress to the hilt for dinner in pirate costumes. We have bought a variety of costumes for our pieces, er, party of eight. :p

Hi,
the pirate party is alot of fun, we have done 4 of them so far.
They have them on both ships, but the Magic has one extra event.
You start off the evening by going to dinner in your pirate attire or tropical attire.
In the atrium there are characters in pirate attire for picturew ith you in your pirate atttire, plus a new thing that is FANTASTIC is Captain Jack Sparrow has 2 times whne you can have apicture taken with him in your pirate attire. These were the best pictures!!! arrive 15 minutes before the time because the line gets very long!! They allow ONE picture per family or else they couldnt get as many people through the line. we skipped dessert that night so we could get there ahead of time.

At 9:45 P.M. you gather up on deck 9 by the family pool. It starts with recorded music and learning pirate dancing, then live music and dancing. then character apprear and a skit happens, a couple of surprises, then fireworks shot off the ship at sea. DCL is the only one to do this.
Then a little more music, followed by a buffet and a wonderful dessert buffet too.
If you are on the Magic they play the Pirates of the Caribbean movie on the outdoor jumbotron movie screen. Hopefully when the Wonder goes into drydock on October they will add a movie screen there too.

That is what the pirate party is all about. It is a lot of fun, I hope you will do it.
There are a few surprises I didnt mention, so not to spoil it for you.

Oh, at dinner you will be given a pirate bandana to wear to the party too and on the Magic you get a pirate scroll menu to keep too.

how dressed up are people for this Pirate party do they just have a bandanna or are they totaly in pirate attire? My daughter wants to be a Pirate for Halloween maybe I'll bring her costume!

Hi,
lots of kids are in full costumes, so feel free to have her dress as apirate.
On the Magic I have seen lots of adults in full costumes as well as just a t-shirt and bandana. The Wonder seems more casual for adults, but lots of kids dress up.


The more people who dress up the better the party is for everyone, so please dress up if you can, it really makes it more fun.

We have booked dinner at Paolos for the night of the Pirate party. Will we be missing anything had we attended the regular dinner?

On the Magic your wait staff dress as pirates and you will receive a souvenir pirate bandana to wear and a pirate scroll menu to keep also.
The Wonder has the bandanas but last time they didnt give out the pirate scrolls.
I think you could tell your wait staff you have Palos and ask if you could drop by and get yout bandanas and scroll menus during dinner anyway. I'm sure they would give it to you.
The Party starts at 9:45 so I hope you will be done by then.

Hi,
The pirate party is all new since we traveled on Disney several years ago. We are booked for a three night Wonder cruise on 12/14. Does the three day itinerary do the pirate party? Do they have the fireworks, too?
We have a 13 and a 5 year old who love Pirates of the Caribbean, so I can't imagine a more perfect event.

Yes they have the POC party on the 3 day. All DCL cruises have it now, if your lucky before the party they will have a picture time with Captain Jack Sparrow, those make great pictures if your in pirate attire too. Also on CC if you walk to the beach there is an area where captain Jack will be for pictures with The Flying Dutchman behind you, awesome pictures!!!
