Okay, I thought I had this all straight in my head. I was wrong!
Yesterday I booked a 5 day Canada cruise in June, 60 days out, so I'm in the full payment period. Due to a major price difference I booked a 1A and crossed my fingers that being past guest or anniversary might earn us an upgrade.
Today the 1A's are all gone, but there are many 4A-G's left. If 1A is gone do I now watch the next lowest price in case it goes to or below what I paid? If they have trouble selling the category 4's, is it possible they'll open the 1A up again in an attempt to 'refill' them at the last minute?
The regular disclaimer applies-I am happy with what we paid and will be comfortable with a 1A (hey, *I* don't have to sleep up top!), I'm just passing the time by keeping up with what could happen http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
