Help! Trying to book spring break 2005, which happens to fall Easter week, and prices are sky high. We really wanted to do the Voyager, but is about $1000 higher than the Conquest for basically the same route, except Voyager from Miami and Conquest from New Orleans. Has anyone sailed on both? We will have at least 8 families with older teens(16-18). All are seasoned cruisers and have always preferred Royal Caribbean, but none are hard to please and just plain love to cruise. Would love to hear opinions regarding the two. Also, can you gamble at 18 on Carnival? Most of the kids are seniors and are looking forward to playing a little in the casino.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

I have not sailed both, but I can tell you Conquest is truly a beautiful ship. If the price is $1000 less to sail Conquest, I'd say do it. The only negative I can say about the trip I took was the Port of New Orleans is chaotic at best. Nothing appeared to be running all that smoothly there... The port has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the ship though, but I wanted to point that out.

Also, I believe you need to be 21 to gamble.

I also am interested in sailing during Easter 2005 and considering the Conquest or the Jewel. The prices do seem high but since this is a holiday sailing I guess that's to be expected. I look forward to hearing from anyone who has sailed both Conquest and RCI Voyager class.

I have not sailed both - sailed the Conquest - wonderful ship. I would recommend it to anyone.

You only have to be 18 to gamble but 21 to drink.

Nan,

I have never sailed RCI, but if you are looking for a spring break " party", not only is the Conquest an awesome ship but Bourban Street has to be one of the best party places in the world!!

I have been on both of these ships...I can say they both are lovely ships..there is more activities onboard the voyager though to me and the Conquest is a newer ship. What you need to do is see what activities the ppl in your group are wanting or looking forward to doing and see which ship has the most and then go for it!! Like I know Carnival doesn't have rock climbing wall..but some folks don't go on cruise to climb walls..but its available for someone who wants to say I climbed a rock wall while at sea on Rccl as well as Ice skating on the high seas too!! But I woud say this If I could go on the Voayger again I would it was awesome and huge!!!!!!! Never had problem with over crowdedness on that ship. I am not sure on the gambling age but I think you can go to the CCL website and get that answer.

Is that 1000 overall more to take the voyager or PP??

What about airfare..is it cheaper to get to one place over the other??

Everyone should try the Voyager class ship at least once. Im glad we did.
My kids had a ball on the Carnival ships but I think for your age group of kids the Voyager has more for them to do then a Carnival ship. Carnival doesnt really have anything planned for that age. Only seeing tons of kids hanging out.
Im not too sure about Carnival but the Voyager has a teen disco for the kids. The 18 years old can gamble and drink wine and beer. Cant do that on Carnival- must be 21 to drink.
Voyager has a rock climbing wall, ice skating, in line roller skating, mini golf-volly ball /basketball.
I found that carnival and Royal both had good daytime activities but for me the night time activy on carnival won hands down. Carnival gave me more of an option on what to do.
