Cost to get from Istanbul Airport to Kyhele Hotel

approximately what should be the cost for taxi or private car to get from airport in Istanbul to our hotel, which is near the main cistern.

we are on Oct. 24 Istanbul to Athens cruise.

i've been told $15-18 USD for a taxi. it is highly likely your hotel can arrange a car for you. ours included a ride to the hotel from the airport in our room rate.

It might be easier if you exchanged some Lira at the airport before getting in the cab - the taxi fare shouldn't exceed 30 Lira during the day, or 50 Lira at night. Anything beyond that and you should request the intervention of the hotel's doorman or manager!

And don't take any Lira with more than five zeros in their denomination! :-)

We found that very few taxi drivers spoke English. In once case we had the guy at the taxi station write out our hotel's name; unfortunately, our driver was illiterate. The suggestion to have the hotel arrange the transportation is an excellent one.
