I am cruising on Carnival for the first time in Jan. Wondering about your opinions/experiences on the quality of the beds in the staterooms...good, bad, and indifferent.

Are they nicer in the Balcony cabins than the inside cabins?

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Indifferent.

Same beds, regardless of the cabin. Twin/king or queen, it doesn't matter.

Shhhh, it's a surprise!

Just got back from my Miracle cruise. I never slept better....the beds are great, especially since they are brand new.

You don't say which ship you are interested in.
I find the older the ship the more chance of a worn out matteress except they do refurbish the ship ever so often so you could have a new one on an old ship. Generally Carnival has a decent grade cheap thin matteress. But keep in mind if you happen to get one that has had some
9000 300 pound bodies (average weight at the end of a cruise) that it could be pretty flattened out. Stay with the less than 3 year old ships and you have a better chance for a better feeling matteress. If you are doing what you should be doing on a cruise you won't really care what you sleep on.

You will be so tired at night, the bed comfort won't matter - but on the Miracle this month, the beds were fantastic! Enjoy!!

The beds on all four of my cruises, outside and balcony, have been wonderful! Can't say any were better than others. But as stated above, it was so good to lie down after a long day that it wouldn't have mattered.. lol. You won't have any problem with comfort.

I slept better in the bed on the Legend than I do at home while my DH was the opposite. Go figure! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The best night sleep I've had has been on a cruise ship. The beds are awesome, and the pillows are amazingly comfortable. The bed on the Legend was the absolute BEST, most comfortable bed I've ever slept on.

If you don't like the mattress, ask the cabin steward to replace it. I have done this on a few occasions.

Excellent beds. Of course, even the floor would have been comfortable given the crazy nights we had. The lido deck furniture is nice as well.

I also found the beds on the three ships we have sailed to be very comfortable. In fact, I liked them much better than my bed at home. My DH & I slept like babies. It was fantastic.

We are just off the Holiday (smaller ship) and found the beds were quite comfortable. I do believe they had new beds. A little more comfy than last year.

Never great, never terrible.
Sun and Rum are the great equalizers.
I've seen people bringing "egg-crate" mattress toppers on board. I suppose it might help.
I just drink a little extra.
