Can you ask carnival for onboard credit if you find the price lower on another site? For example, I bought my cruise from Travelocity. (Way before I found this board.) When I was looking on icruise, I noticed that the price of our room is less. Will carnival give me credit? Oh, and I am already paid in full.

I don't believe Carnival will do anything like that - once you are booked through another agency. Get back in touch with Travelocity and ask for a shipboard credit.

Carnival will only give you the price drops if you booked it through them and the lower price you found is on their site. If the price is less on Travelocity, where you booked, then what you paid, contact them, they may or may not do anything for you.

We booked today on the Elation for 7/4. I asked the TA if they could get us a refund if the prices go down. Her response was that Carnival rarely issues refunds, however they will typically offer an upgrade. She did say that it is difficult to get an upgrade during the summer on the Elation. We booked outside on the Upper Deck. The only place to be upgraded to is a suite (the ELation doesn't have balconys) and those are limited. We've never sailed Carnival before, so we don't know what to expect.

Ernie, you could get 'upgraded' to the Empress Deck, which would normally cost more than the Upper deck, and is much more conveniently located nearer the decks where the action is.

I don't know if the coupon is still available, but we booked our cruise today for 7/4 on the ELation out of Galveston. Have you been on that ship? We've never cruised Carnival and anxious to do so. Our other cruises were on Celebrity, RCCL & Holland America. It should be interesting to compare. If the coupon is available and can be used, now that we've booked ours I'd like to have it. We have to pay our cruise balance on Monday so hopefully, I'll know soon.

I didn't find it hard to get an upgrade or a credit. I booked in Feb by checking out things online and having a PVP call me. After booked and paid in full I was at a Carnival store in the mall and found out that prices had dropped. They couldn't change anything for me but told me to call customer service. They upgraded me and credited me $210pp. Could've upgraded more and still got a credit-but decided wanted the money more we still have a good room.

we also booked with a PVP from Carnival...i found that the rate had dropped when inquiring about booking a third cabin and called him about it...since we had already had two sets of documents sent to us and we were satisfied with our cabins...we opted not to take an upgrade but we all did receive a very nice onboard credit...

we have been very happy with the PVP from Carnival, he has been very efficient and prompt in all of our dealings

We booked a cruise on CCL Elation for May 30, 2004. It has been paid in full for a month. We booked with mycruiseoutlet.com. Last week, while doing my weekly cruise search, I found the same cruise $467. less.(total amt. for the 3 of us) I called my travel agent imediately and asked her what Carnival would do for us since there was a price drop....would they give us an on board credit, or an up-grade? She got back to me within a short time and gave me wonderful news.....we received a refund!!! This was a first and needless to say a shock! We will continue to sail with Carnival. The have, in our view, given us nothing but 1st class service. (eventhough, we bought an inside roon this time) p.s. the price this week has risen once again. I guess it pays to stay vigilant.
