Does anyone have any pictures of the Pethouse Suite on the Fasination? Anyone stayed in the suite that can describe what it looks like, how big and how is the balcony?

Thanks!! Thinking of splurging next time on a cruise.

Are you asking about one of the two owner's suites that have the circular windows that overlook the lido deck pool area? If so, we had a party in one of them on the Sensation. They are very 70ish in decor. Lots of glass and chrome. Baclonies are very small, rooms are hot because of all the windows, you have to keep the curtains pulled and it's still very hot.

I saw the diagram of the ship deck for the Cat 12 - room U73 and the rooms are on the side of the ship on the Upper Deck, in the middle of the ship. Rooms look like, if you were to walk on the balcony you would see a great view of the ocean.
looking at the diagram, the balconies look like the normal balcony room, but bigger rooms.

I hope they are nice...I haven't booked yet..

see the following recent thread...

there are links to CAT 12's (wrong CAT!)
and links to the S-1 and S-2 suites...

I am now booked in a CAT 12 on the Sensation July 1st... it would have been ABOUT DOUBLE that rate for the owners suite/penthouse..

DH and I stayed in the cat 12 on the Sensation (same ship)It was very nice. The balcony is a nice size and it's so peaceful to sit out on your own balcony and drink champagne as you pull out of port. The room was very big and spacious as well. The tub had a whirlpool also. I think it's well worth the extra money. I know that on Carnival's sight they have pictures and even 360 views of the cabins. Go for it!

thought I knew all of the cabins........what is an owners suite....what ships are they on....and where are they...

now I can tell you about a cat 12 on the facination....we had one...

We named it the "KC and the sunshine band suite"
It is very 70's.....there is a walk in closet w/ a full length mirror...and a bath w/ counter and tub that had jets in it.....it was actually more powerful than the one in the spa...

the bed area is large w/ a dressing table then the living area has a wrap around sofa and 2 chairs...thee was really a lot of space for the 2 of us....

balcony was nice...well having your own is always nice....but it is the old style ship where you must stand to see the water as below the rail is solid.

We were very glad to have had the cat 12 on the facination because we were on a true "booze cruz"......and spent most of the time enjoying our room and balcony.....but because of this we did not really partake in any of the ships activities.....you really can imagine this cruse...the guests were so rowdy that shortly after sailing someone thru up in the pool and they kept it closed for the whole trip...we were thrilled to have our own sanctuary!!!!

Now these suites are not nearly as plush and elegant the top suites on celebrity or RCCL...however I have seen pictures of some of the refirbished carnival ships and they look quite elegant w/ their leather sofas.....

hope this helps....oh yes...there is a small ref and some glasses....ref is not stocked....

we learned this ....those that say not to wate your money on a suite have never stayed in one....and the nicer your cabin the more time you spend in it....thus you do not get to really experiance all the ship has to offer...

been inside..........and the grand suite...and all inbetween........had a blast...everytime... why.........BECAUSE WE WERE ON A CRUISE!!!!!!!

Thanks! That is what I needed to know - the CAT 12 has 330 sq. feet, with a balcony of 70 sq. feet. The CAT 11 has 220 sq. feet with a 30 sq. foot balcony.

It's funny, but the CAT 12's are on the Upper deck and the CAT 11 are on the Veranda deck in the front portion of the ship, which is higher than the Upper deck. To me that doesn't make sense. The Upper deck looks like it is flush with the side of the ship down pretty far.

Not to worry, we are going in November and looking forward to it!

Thanks, again!!

I think the Owners Suite (Penthouse) is about 1100 sq ft... too much space unless you are throwing a party there..! There are only two - they are on most Fantasy class ships...

It's official - I've booked the Fasination, Penthouse (that is what they call it), on the Upper Deck. 330 Sq. Feet - with a balcony of 70 Sq. feet. The only thing that I am not going to like is the solid wall railing, but I can't complain to much....It's my first balcony!!!
Thanks, to all who have responded to my question, and anyone else that has experienced this cabin, please feel free to give me more and more info!!! I am getting greedy now!
My price was $1588.02 (that is buying the insurance) for 2 people, departing Nov. 22nd, 2004. Is that a pretty good price?

Happy cruising everyone!!! Now all I wish was it was November, just kidding, it's just starting to get warm where I live...

I was in U90 on the Fascination in February. Very nice suite, there is some information in my review below.

As for the Cat 11 on Veranda vs Cat 12 on Upper, the Veranda balconies are not private at all. They can be seen from many places on the ship. The Cat 12, Upper deck balconies are very private.

It is a great cabin, I think I have some pictures if you like. Send me an e-mail (robcool@hotmail.com) and I will see what I have.

Have fun, she is a great ship!

Beth,

The Fascination was my first cruise and I had a Cat 12 Penthouse Suite U83.

Is the price of your cruise for a 7 day or less???

Here are measurements and some details I thought you would like to have:
The cabin dimension is 14feet wide X 23.5 feet long; the balcony is 14 feet by 5feet. Amenities include the usual 18inch television and a wall safe. Extras include VCR with remote, bar area and refrigerator, combination shower/whirlpool/bathtub, L-shaped couch that seats 5 and a coffee table, walkin closet, The verandah has one lounge, two charis and a small table. We comfortably had about 25 people in it for our largest party.

The OP asked about Penthouse suites. The suites on the Upper deck are cat. 12's.
The cat 11's on the Verandah deck have exposed balconies and restricted view balc's. And they are all inboard a bit so they look down on another deck, not straight down to the ocean. And there is a public stairway that looks right onto the front balconies.

But there are 2 suites that do not show in the price lists or on the deck plans. These "Secret suites" are the , "Owners Suite" refered to above.

To JonV,

The cruise is only a 4 night cruise from Miami-Key West-Cozumel-Sea Day-Miami. Wish it were 7!!

Hey, but 4 is better than 0!

When you are sitting on your lounge chair on your balcony, can you really not see the sea? Or do you have to stand to see the sea?

Hey, dan40 - Can't wait to see your pictures I requested through email. My home email is "beth56@ameritech.net" if you want to send them there too. Thanks!

Sorry, Dan40, oops, it was mean't for Robcool and I got the pictures!! Awesome, except I am concerned that the balcony was very shaded. Does the sun, (I know it depends on what side of the boat you are on, in regards to the sun), shine on the balconies at a certain part of day, or are the shaded all day long??

Looking forward to sailing away in November!!

Glad you liked the pictures!

As for the sun, it is luck of the draw. It depends on the time of day and the direction the ship is heading. I would say there are definately times during the day when the balcony has sun, but not always, and maybe not even for very long.
