Will we be able to copy pictures from our digital camera to DVD/CDs using the onboard computers in the Internet Cafe on the Zuiderdam?

No, I'm afraid not but the good folks in the photography area will make a CD or DVD of you photos overnight for a very reasonable sum. Just be sure you have an extra memory card with you to use when you turn in the one to copy.

Have a great cruise!

Alternatively, bring a few blank CD's and find a friend with a laptop. The photo shop charges an atrocious $15 to burn a photo CD:eek: !

The best way to store the photo's is to take along a spare memory card. When the original is full pop in your spare. You can buy a 1gb card on the internet for about $20 which will hold about 600 pics.

My daughter came back from her last extended cruise with 1800 pics on 6 cd's. This time she is taking 4 memory cards - easier to store and less likely to get damaged and loose her pics

Saying a 1 gig card will hold 600 pictures is not acurate. It depends on resolution, the number of megapixals that the camera can take, and the format.

For example, my camera can take 8 MP pictures and at the highest resolution, my 1 gig card can hold about 120 jpeg pictures.

I like to take my laptop along so I can move my pictures from card to hard disk and then burn CD's or DVDs. That way I have backups upon backups.

I've got 2 1gb cards and with 5mp it says one card will hold about 735 pictures.

I'm taking a blank DVD rw and if we meet someone with a lap top will ask if they will transfer them for us.

If not we might have to avail ourselves of the onboard service even if it is a bit expensive.

Thanks for all your replies.
