Flagship Hotel,GalvestonTx questions

Has anyone stayed at the Flagship Hotel in Galveston pre-cruise? I would like to know what Jeff's Taxi service was like. Were they waiting for you at the pier or did you have to wait for them. Also is the hotel as nice inside as it looks from the outside??

cant help you with the taxi service question, but we would have some reservations about the Flagship. It is really showing its age and in my opinion is not being well maintained. There was another thread recently on this subject so you may see some additional comments from others. Good luck.

The Flagship Hotel in Galveston, a city landmark has fallen on hard times. I am sad to say that it is a dump now. I would suggest you make other arrangements, it is in horrible condition.

It took five rooms to get one (without a/c). One not cleaned up, returned to front desk, opened door with key & somebody sleeping in bed, etc. Staff rude & don't care attitude. Hotel dirty, run down. This landmark needs major overhaul. Would recommend staying anywhere but there. Good Luck!

Tillman Fertita,President of Landry's and owner of...Almost all restaurants on the Kemah Boardwalk,and the amusements.Many of the same restaurants in Galveston. Some of his venues
are Landry's Joes Crab Shack,Fishtales,Willie G's,the San Luis resort,The Aquarium,The Rainforest, the Saltgrass...Good guy,does alot for the community.Not trying to knock him.
He has a deal,that I thought was a done deal,but apparently is in limbo...He purchased the Flagship for a mere 500,000.It is to be torn down,rebuilt as a Victoiran type boardwalk hotel and small amuesment area.My guess while this is in limbo,there will be no improvements.
