My husband and I are first time cruisers. We embark on our first cruise in October with my sister, her husband and kids (3 kids - 4, 6 & 8) and our parents. My husband and I have no kids and are hoping the Adult Only options are good.
Anyone else cruising at the same time or have any words of wisdom for us first timers?
Thanks!

Well, you know we're on your cruise - we're in the adjoining cabin!:o
We're hoping to enjoy at least some of the adult only activities as well!
Your sister, brother-in-law, and kids (4,6,8).

Hey Chris! I was beginning to worry that there was no one else on our cruise. However, I did come across the 178+ page post on another board for our cruise date.
The trick or treating sounds good. I am going to check with my sister, but I bet her kids would love to participate. Do you know what time? We have Palo reservations at 6:00 p.m. Halloween night. It was the only time we could get.
Here's my e-mail... TheFinkles@cox.net
Can you send me more info? Thanks!

You found the right page. But, it's 179 pages now. The first post in that thread should have all of the information in it. The Trick-or-treat will be on Monday, at 12:15 (don't ask me why 12:15). They are doing some personalized stuff for the kids, so you'll need to e-mail the responsible parties by Sept 15th (this coming Friday). They are also putting together an order, with the same deadline, for some shirts and wristbands. Some of them will also meet at a condo in Cypress Pointe in Lake Buena Vista the night before the cruise. Pop in to that thread and say hello!
If you are not happy about that Palo time, you can go to Rockin' Bar D as soon as you get on board the ship and try to change it. They hold back about half of the reservations.
Do you have all of your excursions figured out? That should be fun trying to put that together for a group of that size!

Thanks for the info on the trick or treating. We have three kids (8, 6, 4) and I will check out that other post.
As for excursions, we're breaking up into smaller groups to make it more manageable.
We have main dinner seating (6pm); do you think that is the better time given the ages of our kids?
I've appreciated all the info we've gotten from this post!

Breaking up into smaller groups will make it easier to choose activities! I don't know why the kids don't like those city tours the older folks like so much ;)
Boy, there are pages and pages of posts about early dinner vs. late. There are lots of different reasons to choose either. I look at this way... Would I rather have the kids fall asleep at dinner or the show? LOL... We had the early seating last time and will do it again this time with kids of 7 & 5. They still fell asleep at dinner once or twice last time, though! I hope we get the 6:00PM seating - The early seating could be at 5:45, 6:00, or 6:15, I think, depending on the rotation you get. The biggest problem I see with having early seating is having to be back on the ship in time to get ready for dinner on St. Martin. But, we don't have that much planned for that day, so getting back to the ship for pirate night is in the plan!
