I see documents ... wonderful, glorious, fabulous documents in a navy "pleather" pouch for our Oct 10th sailing of the Rotterdam's Ancient Wonders cruise! I've done the Document Dance on the driveway, in the house, in the yard, and can't seem to stop. I keep shakin' what my mama gave me, and it all just feels so good! DH just holds my hands and has a silly grin on his face, while shaking his head. What a great way to start a weekend.

I started a roll call in March of last year and it took a while, but we've got at least 30 Cruise Critic members who will be joining us on the trip. Some of them seem almost as excited as I am about this trip - it will be great to put faces to screen names at our meet & mingle.

I'm pretty sure the docs will be rag-eared by the time Oct 10 comes around, but who cares - as long as they make out the writing on them, we'll be fine! I just had to share my good news with this board. Thanks for listening. (sighs happily)

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Congratulations, but don't hurt yourself with all that dancing:D I know the feeling, it is such a glorious feeling but not quite as good as walking across the Gangway:)

Congratulations! Nothing matches having the docs in your hand!

We are dancing with you.

Which Ancient Wonders are you seeing, or does that just refer to the usual HAL passengers??

Laffnvegas: only 45 days till we walk up the gangway and enter our home for 12 days. Woo Hoo!

kakalina: most of the people on the roll call thread have their documents too, so we're all dancing together - what a great feeling! The more partners in this dance, the better.:)

JimVrhovac: Jim! How are you? Where've you been, what did you do, what did you see, how much did Ruth shop??? Dying to hear from you!

Mercedmike: I love your sense of humour. Strangely enough, I've referred to DH as my "Ancient Wonder" for a number of years(he's about 14 years older than me!), now we're going on a cruise of the same name! We're sailing from Venice to Dubrovnik, Corfu, Alexandria, Kusadasi, Istanbul, Constantja, Odesa, Varna and ending in Athens 12 days later. We've only booked a couple of shore excursions, and will just play the rest by ear, maybe getting together with others onboard for some private tours.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

It has been a bad year all around. Surgery in first part of year went well and no probability or relapse so far.

Now they want to do a shoulder and knee replacement and there is no way in hell they will get under the knife again. Pain management fairly successful but it is draining. Been on pain management since 1969 but these last problems put me over the top.

Am dealing with it better now but it took some time. I'me too old and too stubborn to let it get me down.

Ruth is doing fine. Mobility still decreasing but she is out ridingher 3 wheel bike every night. She is on heavy doses of oxycontin and antidepressants for pain management now. She has declined surger for now but we will see what the future brings.

Our bigest problem is how to spend everything in the stock accounts before they plant us. Do not want to leave it to the kids to enjow as long as we can have some fun with it. ha ha ha

Appreciated the call from you. Those calls from several of you on the boards and some other things snapped me out of my self pity. Looking forwads to two cruises this fall and couple next year.

How has everything been with you two.

Got frustrated early in the summer and rented the P51 Mustang for 3 hours and had a ball. When I get it put on a disk will send you a copy.

HAL is gonna have to start getting used to raggedy, dog-eared documents being turned in at the pier if they keep sending them out so far in advance. I hate to tell you how raggedy mine already look ... and my cruise is not until October 17. :)

Could always book some more cruises ... or see what Incredible Adventures has to offer you. :)

I'm sorry you guys have been having problems, and I wish you nothing but relief in the coming years. Stay strong and have fun! I'm only sorry that I had to cancel that Westerdam group cruise and won't get to meet you. Hopefully, we'll find ourselves on another ship together in the near future.

navy "pleather" pouch...how clever! I assume that's plastic faux leather? Does the pouch smell? I has to let mine sit out for awhile to let the smell dissipate.

So if folks leaving on Oct 10 and 17 have docs can mine be far behind? Leaving on 10/21, can't wait to do the dance.

Enjoy your cruise, but don't wear the ink off the docs before you go!

Jim, it is good to hear you're still around ... I am wondering, though, what Ruth "persuaded" you to buy for her!:)

Roz, no, it doesn't smell - in fact, I just sniffed it, and nope, no scent other than the great smell of freshly printed cruise documents.

lb0103, I hope you get to do your dance soon, also. I won't worry about wearing the ink off the docs., because they don't really need to see them - we're in their computers and that should suffice. I'd loike to see their faces, though, if we did appear at check-in with dog-eared, barely legible tickets!

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
