Is skipping Key West due to rough seas normal? I know that skipping tender ports happens a lot, but this is the first time I have heard of a ship missing Key West. I am really looking forward to Key West since I have never been there and we have people meeting us there. Help calm me down!

Usally the only reason a port is skipped for weather is if you are tendered in. Both times while we were in Key West the ship docks. Don't worry. You will love Key West, don't forget to stop at the Kinos Sandle Shop. Great quality leather sandles cheap!

I'm only asking because the Miracle skipped it about a week ago. Ever since I heard that, I have been wondering how often it happens there. I know that tender ports get skipped a lot. We don't plan on doing much shopping in Key West, but I checked out the site derf linked to and those sandals look nice!

DawnC:

I was on the 4/12 Miracle cruise that skipped Key West. The captain couldn't dock do to 6 foot swells and high winds, he made several attempts to dock. The whole cruise was very windy and the seas were the roughest I've experienced. I'm not sure though how often this happens, hard to predict what mother nature is going to do. Have a great cruise, she's a beauty!
