View Full Version : Percs for Suite Passengers?

I recently travelled on HAL in a Deluxe Verandah Suite. We had many percs including a special lounge with concierge as well a couple of special parties. Does Carnival offer any special percs with a suite? I am considering a Western Caribbean cruise on the Conquest. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bob R.

Rutgers -- I hope that someone replies to your post. We were in a Deluxe Verandah Suite on HAL in February and loved the Neptune Lounge and the concierge service. I hope that many of the percs apply to Carnival as well.

We are sailing on the Sensation, May 6th out of Tampa and we have booked a veranda suite, category 11. I understand that you are intitled to use the Skipper Club for express check-in but I think that may be it. I will let you know when I return with my review.

Hi,
Had a suite on Pride 7/03. The bottle of water is $3.50 there too. (No percs for us) As far as the Skipper's Club the line was longer the the others so where's the perc? To us the just having a suite was a plus.

Enjoy!

As others have mentioned, the only real perk we had with our suite on the Pride was the Skipper's Club. (priority embarkation) Also in our cabin we had two TVs, two VCRs, a bath tub, a walk in closet, and a bunch of extra bar glasses...the balcony & cabin were great, but you don't really get anything special!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

do the suites have jacuzzi tubs or just a tub?

They do have those little jacuzzi jet thingys in the tub...but, it is sort of just a regular sized tub. (maybe a little bit bigger!)

You do not get any percs for being a suite passenger. You pay for everything you use. The tubs do have the jacuzzi jets but they are very weak.
They are getting worse all the time by taking more things away that were free. Chip chip here, chip chip there. Before you know it, the towels for the pools will be charged for by the hour etc. You want toilet paper hmmmmmmmmmmmm

The lady I spoke with at Carnival said skippers Club check-in and that we would be invited to the Captain's cocktail party. I don't know too much as this will be our first cruise ever.

6/27 Conquest let's party!

My DH and I were in a suite last year out of Baltimore. No Skipper's Club at that port. Apparently it depends on what port the ship departs from.

There are now Skipper's Clubs at "all home ports".
Carnival rep said I should just tell anyone with a Carnival uniform that I am "Skipper's Club" when I reach the embarkation area.

But Baltimore is not a 'home' port

There is really nothing special about booking a suite on Carnival other than the size of the cabin. You will find nothing on Carnival that would even come close to what you have experienced on HAL. You would think that with the prices that they charge for the suite compared to the other cabins, that there would be something extra. The Skippers Club is so hit and miss it's not even worth messing with IMHO.

This is my first post, so please forgive my mistakes. I'm sliding down the learning curve, but will learn.

Gordon -
Thanks for your info about the Fantasy. I, too, wondered about perks. Another question (maybe this should be on a different thread)-

My husband and I are taking our neice and roommate (26 & 27 yrs. old) - their first ever cruise - at the same time as you (Labor Day weekend). My hub & I have been an several cruises, but never on the Fantasy. Will they enjoy it - stuff to do? guys around their ages? They're pretty independant (not loose) young women. Any suggestions for what they might enjoy in Nassau? As for us, we're never bored on cruises.

Thanks for any info you or others might give us. (By the way, we're Florida Gators too.)

Bon

*Every* passenger is invited to the Captain's cocktail party. This is not a suite perk.

Skipper's Club is about it, and that depends on which port you leave from. We had priority embarkation and disembarkation on the Conquest when it was in Gulfport last year. Skipper's Club was a joke at Long Beach (Carnival Pride). We sort-of got priority embarkation, but no priority disembarkation. Other than that, no perks. You'll have a larger cabin, whirlpool tub, Cat. 12 has a bidet, cat. 11 does not. That's about it. Hope I answered your question. DH and I enjoyed the Conquest. Have fun.

PS, when we were on the Pride last month, they were selling a new Carnival VIP Vacation Program, which as a member, you will be the recipient of the perks (because you have to buy into it, $$$$). They will have priority check-in/check-out and other perks that no one else will get, and they will supercede the suite holders (again, because they bought into the VIP program). I only know this because DH and I attended a one-on-one sales meeting with a rep who pitched it to us. He also said that it's a new program and is only on one (maybe 2) other Carnival ships and will only be available for purchase onboard these select ship.

Yes, I have to agree with the "no perks" for those who booked Cat 11 & 12. We have been in both, and it was nice to get to "skip" most of the lines at embarkation. They used to escort you to your room, but no more. I was kind of ticked off also when we were about the last ones to be called off the ship at one of the ports! I felt like we paid extra, so we should get to debark earlier. We should have been given priority also at debarkation on the last day. Maybe if enough folks complain- they will make some changes. Anyways- I am still booking my Cat 11 on the Valor for next April. LOVE THE TUB!!
