We are booked on the Rotterdam on 12/22/06 to SA/Antarctica. Is there anyway to find out who our captain will be? And a big thank you for all the replies I have gotten from my other posts. Marian

I think that presently, Captain Jack van Coevorden is scheduled to be Master on that date but it can change. Have a GREAT cruise. We haven't sailed with him for while but I'd really like to again soon.

Our first HAL cruise was with Captain Jack and we've sailed with him a number of times since. We are always delighted if we learn he is to be Captain on any of our cruises. We think him terrific!!!!

We are also very fond of Captain Jack! First met him in '73 when he was a Second Officer and have sailed many times with him...but not recently. Would enjoy renewing old times with him once again.

Maybe we'll get realy lucky, Liz........we can all be together on the same 'dam' ship with Captain Jack.

I'm trying to remember the last time we sailed with him and I think it could have been Zuiderdam, 2004.

I hope you have a wonderful time. This is the most spectacular cruise I can imagine. It got me so excited it took me three months after I got back before my feet even touched the ground. :D

He's a good guy! ;) Are you sure he'll be on Rotterdam though? Last time I heard Westerdam was "his" ship and Jan Smit and Fred Eversen had Rotterdam

John, when Julie was here last week her and I were talking about Captains and she said that Captain Jack was now on the Rotterdam and that will be his ship for a while. I know he has not been on the Westerdam thru the Alaska season at all.

Captain Jack is (supposedly) scheduled to be Master of Rotterdam October 10 through January 14. Of course, the planning can change and often does.

to make sure, why not call Seattle and ask for "crew assignments" or something like that ..
