Welcome back from your recent WESTERDAM cruise!

We'll be sailing to the Eastern Caribbean aboard the WESTERDAM in October. I'm attempting to make a special CD of "cruising, sea, & sailing" songs to play while we enjoy our balcony. In "trying to lighten" my packing load (which is very hard for me to do), I was wondering if the DVD players in the cabins could play music CDs. We are still in the VHS tape time warp at home and don't own a DVD player, so we're unfamiliar with how they work. I'd really like it if I didn't have to lug along a CD player to play my "special" CD on the cruise. I look forward to hearing from you savy past passengers on this one!
Thanks in advance for all your pearls of wisdom!

Debjo ;)

Hi Debjo

We have been on the Zuiderdam a number of times and have in fact used the DVD player to play music. Keep in mind though sometimes if you burn your own cd some dvd players won't play it or recognize it...ours did in fact work.

You're going to love your suite....

My DVD worked fine too ... and it was not a regular movie dvd, but rather a video of my skydive in Hawaii that I wanted to play while still on the cruise where I made the jump. DVD played fine ... and it was similar to a "home made" job. Trust me, these drop zones don't have much more than a regular run-of-the-mill personal computer on which they burn them.

Blue skies ...
