Yes, its my first. The timing didn't work out last time, but I was determined the first day this one went on sale that I would be calling! I guess I was one of the first to get through but didn't know it had connected. There was silence instead of a recording. I hung up and tried again for an hour. I read on the DISboards to try the 407 number and got right through. I won't have any kids on this one. My DD19 is in college and DD15 is in marching band so will have a game while we are gone.
Good to hear from you!

Hi Gail:
Yes, I started out on that thread early on but it was just too chatty for me. I love to hear how everyone is doing but it got a little long. I guess I will have to go back and review some of the posts.
I booked the glass bottom boat ride for DM and myself. Have you done that before? There isn't too much that sounds like anything DM would want to do so I thought we would head over to the adults only side of the island and relax and read a book. Are there big umbrellas or cabanas over there?
Its great to have someone to talk to about all this!

We have only been to the Adult beach just to see it. We usually wander to the end of the family beach and find a chair, it's actually pretty quiet down there. I would bet that there are umbrella's with the chairs over at the adult beach just as there is on the family beach.
I'm guessing the amount of kids is going to be be relatively low with the cruise being in Oct, so the family beach might not be too bad. I didn't realize how few kids were on the past Member Cruises until we sailed during the 3rd week in Feb - here the kids are off for winter break - the ship was packed with kids!
We haven't done the glass bottom boats. Do they offer that on Castaway Cay? It sure would be a great way to see the marine life without having to snorkel!

I am glad to know there are umbrellas on the chairs at the family beach. Since we are on CC for 2 days we may spend time at both beaches. I just read a review of someone's Wonder cruise and they said that the adult beach had steaks and some other food that was not available on the family side. I don't know if I could eat something as heavy as a steak while I was on the beach. I usually think more along the lines of fish or shrimp. We'll just have to wait and see what they have available for us.
Yes, the glass bottom boat is available on CC. My mom won't snorkel so I needed to find something else for us to do. I think she will enjoy this and I always like to see the fish.
I am just looking forward to getting away for awhile. Come on October!

I'm a new DVC member (SSR). What's the plan with a member's cruise? Do they book the entire ship? It it discounted points? The DCL cruises are pretty point-heavy even in the steerage classes where I like to stay.
I'm still grinding through the 20 lbs of paper that they gave me and I don't have access to the web site yet.

This is the third exclusive cruise that DVC has done. They charter the whole ship. The call in date to book was last December and it was sold out that day.
Discounted points  .......actually it was more points than it would have been had it been a regular sailing. You don't have to use points, you can pay cash or use points for one and cash for the other.
Along with all the DCL activities, there are plenty of extras that DVC provides. Last year there was Don "Ducky" Williams and Art Linkletter as guest speakers. Each night DVC had gifts left in our rooms. DVC did run specials if you added on more points.
Dh and I have been on the other two and are really looking forward to this one. We have met alot of other DVCer's and have a great time with them on the cruises.
Definitely a great time!
Congratulations on your DVC purchase - it's one of the best decisions we ever made!
