My wife and I just want a tour w/ stops for photograph, etc. We wouldn't mind eating lunch at Grand Case either.
How much would a general overview (say, 3 hours) run via taxi? I have a quote from Bernard, but would like a more private tour for the two of us.
Thanks in advance!

We rented a jeep for the day - it was $60US. We shopped in Marigot, stopped in Grand Case and then spent the rest of the day at Orient Beach - it was very easy to get around.

Thank you for the link, Sheffie!
I believe we'll take the "Mountain Top" tour - I'll gladly pay $10 extra (plus tip) for a private tour than for one with 10 others!

I'm not sure that I understand this comment. The Taxi Tours mentioned at the link, including the 'Mountain Top' tour are for groups.
Did I miss a comment somewhere that you can make it a private tour for an extra $10?

Perhaps I misread the site - the $50 for the "1-2 passenger" tour is per person, my bad.
So it'll be $100 instead of $60 - $40 more. I think we'll still do this, as we can have more flexibility. I know Bernard's tours only go by Maho in the morning when no jetliners come in.

I think you've misread the schedule. It seems to be $50 for either one or 2 people, $69 ($23 per person) for three people, $88 ($22 per person) for four people, etc. Our ship, the Noordam, is in port from 11 a.m to 7 p.m., and the ship's tours have awful timing: either 3 to 4 hour trips starting at around 11 a.m., with no lunch; or tours to beaches or on sailboats starting at around 1 p.m., when a redhead like me would fry to a crisp even with sun block. I guess I'll either take a cab or try Joyce or Bernard.
