Any ideas what the room service menu may look like? I think I remember it being pretty limited last time ( 5 years ago :-o ), but I was thinking of planning a "sumpin" nice for the huz-band. I also could not remember if you could get alcholic beverages in the room?

I have a memory like who knows what! It is horrible!

There were sandwiches which ranged from Turkey or Ham to different combinations of toppings on pitas or wraps. There were cookies, fruit, bagels, juice, coffee, etc. I thought it was a decent selection for being free and being in your room in 10 minutes. They do serve alcohol until like 3 am but, of course, that's not complimentary.

Also, take advantage of the continental breakfast in your room on port days. It was nice to wake up to hot coffee and bagels and fruit before we headed down to get off the ship!

Sounds good! I remembered my husband ordering a sandwich last time. Yes you are right -- free/ included is definitely good. One more reason I cruise!

Did I just read on another post that you could order up lobster tails on room service and they would bring them to you? Has anybody ever ordered anything other than what is on the room service menu and gotten it without hassle?

I think room service menu is pretty good, as far as variety. The roast beef and brie on baguette is absolutely delicious!

Our room service was great! We did an early order (left on cabin door handle the previous nite) for both Port days we had early excursions.. Not as good as a hot breakfast, but certainly good!
Sandwichs were great.. Amazingly, my favorite was Tuna Salad! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
We also ordered alcoholic beverages several times in conjunction with meals and/or alone!
And the hot coffee! I thought it was good.. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Carnival's room service is somewhat of a disappointment. On other lines, there are hot items (pizza, burgers, etc.) and full breakfast (made to order eggs, bacon, etc.) as well as the usual sandwiches to choose from.

Room service menu should be located on the desk or see it on the tv.

Royal Caribbean has a room service menu where you can order from the dining room menu. Not all things are offered for room service though--like Lobster.
But Carnival has the best pizza and burgers of any cruise lines I sailed.

Is it not in the thick binder on your desk that has phone numbers, ship info, etc?
And the hang tags for breakfast are somewhere in your room, maybe stuck inside this binder.
Has anyone tried writting in extra breakfast
items not offered like omlettes? Last time I remember it was rather limited on breakfast.
Usually my wife will go up to Lido and fix a tray for both of us to bring back allowing me an extra 30 min. of sleep. It's always hot and exactly what we want. I guess not everyone has that luxury option.

Brownies! This time around I'm ordering brownies and taking them with us to the ice cream machine to top them off.

I agree. You can order pizza on RCI, but it isn't worth eating IMO!

I have to admit that I like RCI's room service better just because at meal times you can order what's being served in the dining room at the time or a hot breakfast.

But...hey, as long as it's included...who cares

I am also looking forward to this on the Navigator. Someone scanned the breakfast room service menu for me and I was surprised to see that you can get a hot breakfast delivered. I also like the fact of ordering off of the menu for lunch and dinner. I will make good use of the balcony.
