View Full Version : When to complete fun pass?

How soon should the fun pass be filled out? Can it be done in stages?

We are traveling with another couple and they keep asking me to wait to do it with them. I want to fill it out now. They think I'm just being silly wanting things done so far ahead but we are getting close!

Is there a time it has be done by before its too late?

Thank you!

As long as you have a booking number you can do it then. I think you can do it up til 2 weeks before your cruise.
Mine is done for our cruise for NEXT february 2005.

As soon as you have a booking # you can start the registration, just save each page as you go. Passport info, return flight # and times can be filled in as you get them

You can go in and work on it as you have information available, just save your changes as you go then go back when you are ready to work on it again.

I booked with a TA and have a booking number, but am unable to do the FunPass. For some reason the system does not recognize my booking number. Is it b/c I booked with a TA?

You may have a group booking number. I do and must wait for my docs. I've read that you can complete the fun pass right up to the cruise but less than two weeks out you must take a copy with you.

We booked with a T/A . It let me complete the fun pass for myself and my husband. When I got to our kids, it wouldn't let me go any further. I called Carnival, they said our kids were listed as 35 year olds ! Told me to call our T/A, which I did. She said they always do that, list the kids as 35 year olds. Something about when She booked with carnival, that's just the #'s they plug in to save the room. Sounds kinda fishy to me. How about you guys?
I also didn't know that there is no kid fare. They just price them as a 3rd and 4th person. Don't know why that strikes me as odd. Maybe because we found out from Carnival a couple of months ago that our T/A had us all booked as seniors. (To save the agency a little money) Oh well, our last time with this particular agency....... live and learn.

I agree as soon as you have your booking number. Chris is right you can start putting in info but make sure you save as you go. For those who booked with a TA and having trouble try deleting your TA info on your profile page and close your web software and restarting your sofware and then try entering your info.

There is no such thing as a childs rate. You will pay 3rd and 4th passenger rate is the same being you have a 1 month old or an 40 year old.

Group bookings get their on number and with a group booking number you can do the fun pass thing. Sorry.

Carnival never does offer a child rate except as a special and it is rare. NCL and Celebrity do. One rare time Carnival did give us a special rate for our daughter but we had to fight for it. We booked a last minute cruise out of NY five days before sailing. They gave it to us for just her port charges, she was 9 months old and my husband argued that we had to bring all her food, beverages and that she could only use camp for the paid services not the free ones. At that point they were just trying to fill the ship.

I have to disagree on the group booking number. I called Carnival to ask why I could not do it and they stated because I had a group booking number. ( A block reserved by/for a TA), emailed the TA and they said Carnival will give the group individual booking numbers with the docs.

The only problem I had with filling out the Fun Pass was it would not let me enter our past guest numbers.

I would fill it out now. This way when you receive your documents it will show that your funpass status is complete. You will need your booking number and social security number for each passenger.

Go ahead, do it now!

When I filled out the Fun Pass on line for my Husband and my two kids, It was easy. I plugged in their past guest numbers and the passport numbers...then, one month later (yesterday) I went to fill out my fun pass (I just recieved my passport yeaterday in the mail. I had waited to fill out my Fun Pass because I figured I needed my passport number). When I went to fill out the information, besides having all kinds of problems with the sysytem telling me that my session had expired after I had just logged in 30 seconds before (talk about exasperating!) for some reason I wasn't asked my past guest number OR my passport number. It came up as complete afterword, but then it wouldn't allow me to print, again saying, "your session has expired" (or something like that).
After about 30 more minutes of playing with this I finally printed out a funpass...but I have a feeling when I go to embark on the ship there will be an issue as to whether it was filled out correctly or not. We'll see.
I hope to have about an hour less time spent during embarkation because the way I figure it, I did that hour on line playing with Carnival's not-up-to-par website....
Don't want to sound whiny....Carnival will make it up to me on the ship because I know I'll have a great time!

I thought the whole idea was to fill out the information ahead of time, so that when your doc's came your FunPass was included.

How can you do that with a group when your booking number doesn't even arrive until your doc's do?

You can still fill out your Fun Pass AFTER you receive your docs. In fact, your docs even tell you to do this!

Why? The Fun Pass is to help speed up the Homeland Security requirements for info on passengers on cruise ships. You can complete this info up to 3 days (I believe) prior to your cruise.

If you already have your docs, complete the Fun Pass online, then print out the summary page showing "completed" next to your names, and bring that print out with you when embarking. You can still use the Fun Pass line when doing this.

So no excuses folks! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif If you can read this, then you can and should fill out your Fun Pass online (if Carnival's web site cooperates, but that's a whole different post...)

Have a great cruise!
