How long before departure does Carnival usually assign final cabin assignments? We are sailing on 5/16/04 and I wanted to know when to expect our cabin assignment.

Thank You!

I was just told that if you booked guarentee cabin you might not know until you arrive to port or sometimes at least a week before cruise. Its up in the air thing I guess ya knever know until ya do.

if you have your docs, look at the sign & sail page, on the back of this page, at the very bottom, there should be a long number, the first part of the number is your booking number, followed by your cabin number. I hope this helps. have a great cruise!!!!!!

I got my documents for my May 22 sailing today. I booked a guarantee. I got gray TBA tags and no room number. I can locate my room on the ship however; so I know that it has been assigned for at least 5 days. I'm sure that all could change, but I know that a room number has been plugged in with my booking number with it at least 20 days out from sailing. So, your room number has been decided too, I bet.

On the back of my sign and sail page it has U66 listed. We are sailing the Elation, is this a good spot?

It's a very nice cabin -- we had it four weeks ago on the Elation. It's very conveniently located, close to the atrium, the Mikado and your likely dining room (Imagination).

U66 is an oceanview cabin, category 6C, nice.

Out of curiosity, which category did you book, and is this an upgrade for you?

Thanks for all the feedback. We have not received our documents yet but expect them soon since we are sailing in 19 days. These boards have been a real help!

For our March 6th Carnival cruise we booked 8A guarantee and got catagory I. We were very pleased but didn't know anything until arrival at the port.

I guarantee that the guarantee cabins are not asigned until the last minute...unfortunately, I have to admit this may because of folks like me who change their cabins every time we see the price drop.
I apologize for any inconvenience.... http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Our stateroom assignment changed the night before the cruise. When we gave our bags to the porter, he looked us up on his list and that is what we put on our tags. At the check in counter they said our assignment had changed overnight and they had to go to the purser’s desk to get our room keys/sink or swim cards while we waited at the security check - picture machine. I understand that they give temporary stateroom assignments for their booking process, and then change them to suit their new bookings.
