Just wondering, have you ever turned down a cabin upgrade? If so, why?

I was happy with the cabin I had. Asked for OBC instead.

I specifically picked the cabins we have for two upcoming cruises and would definitely refuse an upgrade in most instances. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just turned down an upgrade last week. Sometimes the upgrades aren't that great. Just a higher floor. We have two cabins and have hand picked them for their location...Took the onboard credit instead!

Jmurp - curious as to what cabin you picked for your June Destiny cruise. We're looking at March 2005 and having trouble deciding on trying balcony guarantee or selecting a specific room.

Location is somewhat of a personal thing. If you trully do not care about where your cabin is--then take a quarantee. But that cabin can be under the pool area/ under the dsco/ in the front/ etc etc.
Some people prefer to pick their cabin location so they can be on a certain fllor ( i prefer to be situated between 2 decks of cabins) Some like to be close to elevators. Some like to be close to the kids clubs. So you see. its all personal choice.
If you want an extended balcony-- try looking for 6344, 6336, 6371 or 6363. These are aft and priced at an 8A.

i turned down an upgrade..long story short...we are traveling with other folks...one party booked when we did and the other party booked at the last minute(my dd and her dh)using my cc..the PVP at Carnival offered me an upgrade along with dd to another deck but couldnt accomodate the other party that orginally booked with us without charging them for an ungrade...
so needless to say, we turned down the upgrade but all three parties did receive OBC
