I am trying to book a suite for the June 2 cruise in Alaska. Been pouring over the deck plans trying to find that perfect cabin. Was wondering if suite 8094 was nice? I noticed that it is the bend of the ship. When I called HAL today, I was told that SS category cabin is 20 sq ft. smaller than the other ones. Does anyone know if this is true.

I will be traveling with my hubby and 14 yr old daughter. So we want to have the space and a really nice balcony that all 3 of us can actually move around on.

Thanks for any info you guys can give.

We were in #8091 on the Oosterdam and had plenty of room so I'm sure you will have no problem with three people. At night when the sofa becomes a bed it may be tight getting onto the balcony but I think that would be the only time. As for the bend in the balcony on future cruises I want to book these, I'll explain. When we were on our balcony its facing straight out but the one you will have faces forward and out. The couple on our floor had a tripod with camera set up and he was getting all the beautiful scenery of Alaska while he and his wife were relaxing and reading. Hope this helps and happy cruising.

My understanding is that these cabins are bigger not smaller than the others in the category due to the bumpout. And the balconies are larger, as well. I hope the info I was given is correct, because we are booked in one on the Zuiderdam. :)
