My wife and I had a thoroughly delightful cruise Rome - Istanbul on the Nautica in June of this year A number of individuals provided some very helpful suggestions on this forum and we thank them all.
We really enjoyed the new king size "Tranquility Bed" that was in our cabin. It was very soothing and comfortable after a long day of sight seeing. I did an on line search for "Tranquility Bed" and found nothing. I concluded that this terminology was created by Oceania to describe the combination of the comforter, linens, pillows and mattress.
I would like to recreate this ensemble for our home. Does anyone know the names of the manufacturers and the suppliers of these items? I can contact Oceania for their assistance but decided to first try this forum that has been so helpful in the past.
Jan Cruz, can you help?

I know you can buy the bedding on Oceania's website but I thought at one time they had the beds listed...Maybe I was dreaming on the bed.

We too found it the most comfortable bed we'd ever slept on, came home and checked the Oceania website for info. They have the pillows, sheets and comfortors for sale, but no mention of the matress. We're going to contact them - when we hear, I'll post.

I believe the mattresses are custom-made and might not be available on the market. They are quite thick, Euro-top mattress with a custom pillow-top sewn in and a memory foam layer underneath.
However, at last reports, the linens were 350 count Eqyptian cotton, made by Frette, with stores in most major cities, worldwide. The duvets and pillows are all down filled.
Good luck on your search....

I telephoned Oceania and left a voice message for the unnamed individual who is in charge of purchasing. In addition, I sent Oceania the following email:

I am curious as to the rely, if any, that I may receive.

We always take a regular sized balcony cabin and the bed is queen sized.
Do the suites have king sized beds? (just curious)
I love the sheets and duvets that Oceania uses instead of those dreary floral prints that other lines use.

Jane, we had an outside cabin with balcony on deck 6.
In addition to a sofa and desk with chair, the cabin had a king size bed.

Alas and alack, I received the following email reply from Oceania in response to my voice mail and email inquiries regarding the Tranquility Bed mattress:
"Good Afternoon:
Regrettably, the beds are specially made for us by a small factory in
Italy. They are not for resale and are unable to source in the US.
Sincerely,
Cheri H. Lee
Special Services Coordinator for the Insignia
Oceania Cruises, Inc."
This response came within three hours of my contacting Oceania. Oceania’s personnel appear to move very quickly in providing answers to questions posed by their customers.

Really? It didn't seem that big a bed to me and I'm sure they're all the same. We sleep in a queen sized bed at home so if we're in a king in a hotel or something, it always feels so huge.
Seems like a small room to put a king sized bed into.

If I'm not mistaken..a King bed IS 2 twins( used to use 2 twin foundations and King matress to make a king ) so as the beds are supposed to be either twins or put together??? Must be a king, or else the individual beds aren't a twin, I know european beds are narrower (had twins at Hotel in London...my husband fell out TWICE because they were so narrow...and we don't do twins (had no choice in this case!).Perhaps this does make them more like queen sized?

We have a queen bed in our guest room and a king size in our bedroom. The bed on the Nautica was definitely a king, albeit probably two twins pushed together with a king mattress and king bedding on top. Since I am 6'5" tall, I am very cognizant as to the size of beds and generally avoid beds other than king size.

That makes sense, it is probably two twins put together so that there's flexibility to make the room for 2 singles if necessary.
It's just one of those things I don't pay attention to. We like a queen sized bed just fine, so it wouldn't be a negative for us if a room didn't have a king sized bed.
Thanks.

According to O website the OS & VS have a Queen
"Take pleasure in your luxurious queen sized bed."
Maybe the renovated suites have a King
Maybe someone can measure them ;)

We had an OS on the Nautica and although the bed was very comfortable, it did seem smaller than our King at home. I'd say it was a Queen.

We've has the bed in the OS (Regatta) replaced with Twins. Since the beds were between night tables affixed to the wall and were definitely no smaller than standard twins I'd have to guess the bed they replaced was a King.

Hmmm...........there seems to be no concensus here. But the brochure says Queen.
Strange!
Well, we'll all have to take another Oceania cruise and post our findings! :D

Maybe this will help. Please scroll down to "Standard Sizes".

The sizes for the same name vary somewhat by country. Maybe O has its own standard. :)

I don't think they "replaced your beds"...they just separate them, at least that's what they did the time they had twin beds & we asked for queen/king...We watched them take the twins...push them together..add special padding to cover the place they came together...then make up the beds as a king. This was in another ship...Several ships in fact it was obvious this is what they did. Where would they keep all those beds not in use????

"I don't think they "replaced your beds"...they just separate them,...
Perhaps I should have said "changed the configuration".............. whatever.
The point is that the twins apparently replaced a king. Had the previous configuration been as a queen the replacement would have been mighty narrow twins.
