This is probably a stupid question, but I see acronyms on different threads like "DH" and being a newbie, need to know what all of these stand for. could one you vets share the secret.

Nope...not a stupid question at all!

DH = Dear (or Designated) Husband
DW = ....Wife
DS = .....Son
DD = .....Daughter

SIL/DIL/FIL/MIL = Son/Daughter/Father/Mother-in-law

...that sort of thing!

When I was a newbie last year I had the same questions. It not a stupid question. I'll add a few more acronyms...

pax = passenger
FWIW = for what its worth
IIRC = if I recall correctly
YMMV = your milage may vary
IMO = in my opinion
IMHO = in my humble opinion

BIL - Brother in Law
SIL - Sister in Law
MIL - Wicked witch of the north
BTW - By the way
LOL - Laughing out loud
ROTFLMAO - Rolling on the floor laughing my A$$ off

IMO = In My Opinion
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion
HAL = Holland America Line
DAM = A) Suffix indicating one of the ships belonging to HAL, or B) what you say when lifting spouses luggage into the car.
PH = Where the rich people live on HAL ships
GUAR = Where people who can't decide where to live on HAL ships live
TA = Person who takes your money gives you tickets that say PH or GUAR
OMG! = A common reaction to A) your shipboard account statement at the end of the cruise, B) being upgraded from GUAR to PH, C) Volcano Cake in Pinnacle, D) winning the lottery
WT*? = A common reaction to A)your shipboard account statement at the end of the cruise, B) people who cut in line in the Lido, C) chair hogs, D) anything that will change your itinerary or cause delays, or E) not being upgraded from GUAR to PH.

Oops Brian,

You are so right. Just put that faux pas down to all those years I lived in West Hollywood before moving to San Diego. I still have a lot of "your team" up there that are special friends and they would have a great time ribbing me about the "sashaying faux pas".

Okay, you take the ones that are "sashaying" and I'll take the ones that are "strutting their stuff". Works for me - how about you?
