I have a question to all you seasoned cruisers. I have reservations on the Feb. 28, 2007 of the Noordam for a VD class room. I booked through a cruise website after I searched for the best price. I went to the website today to make sure pricing had not changed. Well, the price is now almost $500.00 ( for 2 of us) less than when I booked in March. I have a call into the agent that I worked with and she is out through the holiday. My question is should I ask for an upgrade to a SS room? The price for the SS room is only around $500.00 more than the VD room we have reserved. Or, should I ask for a refund? I'm confused. I really don't mind forking out another $500.00 for a SS room if that's what it would take to secure it. Has anyone else ever had this happen and how did you handle it? Just some advice would be great. Thanks:confused:

You can probably do either one. I assume you only have a deposit down on the cruise now and have not paid for the entire cruise.. Hope that is the case. They will reduce the amount of your cruise to their advertised rate and you will pay less when final payment is due. If you want to spend that extra money on an upgrade, you could probably do that too.
I have had this happen and I just ask for a reduction in price.
If you have paid for the entire cruise already, I would ask for the SS to make up the difference.
If your agent is not in, I would print out the page with the reduced fare and at the least, leave a message with your TA. You never know if tomorrow the price will increase. If you can get another TA to assist you, then do that. Definitely print the page with the reduced rate. I had that happen once and had to fax them the page as the rates increased again overnight.. They honored the request.

Your welcome and congrats on getting a great one reduction! Stick to your guns on this as it's a big reduction. Try to get someone else to help you or to acknowledge your called regarding this reduction!
