We just booked Glory out of Port Canaveral for March 12, 2005!! I am so excited. We will be flying into Orlando and I know it is 40 or so minutes drive to the ship. My question .. what are the options for getting from Orlando to the Glory. I would really like to fly down the day before, spend the night and then go the ship. What is the easiest way to do that and any good suggestions where to stay? Thanks. Lenore

We flew down early in the am the day before, rented an AVIS car at the airport which has drop-off at the Radisson, spent the day in Universal studios, left the car at the Radisson office. When we got off the ship, we rents a new car, spent a night in Disney, then dropped off at the airport.

Hi, Lenore. My brother and his wife (from Lisbon Falls) and my husband and I (formerly from Scarborough) sailed on the Glory last November. We stayed at a hotel near the hotel; we rented a car. We bought the shuttle ticket from Carnival and after dropping off the rental car, took the rental car courtesy bus back to the airport and rode the Carnival shuttle bus to Port Canaveral. It was very easy. I recommend going down a day early. You know how crazy Maine weather can be . . . better to be safe than sorry.

We went on the Glory last September. Rented from Avis ($37.) and drove to Cocoa Beach pre-cruise stay. The Avis drop off has a free shuttle to the ship.

Thanks guys!! Good suggestions .. I will have everyone, especially hubby, driven crazy getting everything figured out between now and March! Norma, we will actually be flying out of Baltimore. We go down to our daughters in DC the 1st of March and then go from there. Return to her house, spend a little more time then back to Maine! But even Baltimore can be delayed, so I do think we will head down the day before. Again, thanks, and if anyone does it differently I am still checking!!

bcs819 gives good advice as we were on the same cruise as her and did exactly the same thing. Unfortunately Avis is no longer located at the Radisson Hotel. They moved a mile or so from there but they still have the free shuttle to the ships.
