Statendam Pin/Tie Tac

Here is one for you - the one souvenier my wife picks up on each sailing from the on-board gift shop is the pin/tie tac of the the ship. Every cruise we have sailed on she has purchased one....with the exception of the Statendam sailing we just returned from. The salesgirl in the gift shop said they were out of stock and hoping to restock on the next sailing. I looked on the HAL site (their on-line store) and they do not sell them. My next search is e-bay....any other thoughts or suggestions?

(for those who have not seen them - they are a small enamel pin/tie tac (is what I think they really are) with a picture of the ship and it's name

I would call customer service, explain the situation, and with HAL's customer services you could probably get one.

Another option would be to email the hotel manager or cruise director and explain the situation, making sure to compliment the clerks interest in assisting you, and ask where you could get one. My guess is someone would probably ship one off to you.

Bob, I check eBay several times a week for Holland America things and the Tie Tack pin I have never seen. I think your best bet is to go to the Roll Call boards for the Statendam and ask if anyone on board could purchase one for you.

Vegas - I agree I am an ebay visitor - collected all the inaugeral plates for all the current HAL ships plus a few older ones..but I agree I have never seen a pin/tie tac advertised.

Ruth - HA, HA, HA:p ...already did that! But its on the Maasdam! for next summer! and we sailed on her several yrs ago. That was the first HAL ship we sailed on HAL and have some of our fondest cruise memories from that sailing!

I'll put a call inot HAL or maybe drop them a line this weekend!
