We will be driving to Vancouver for 9/13 Inside Passage cruise on the Volendam. TA info states that parking is available at Canada Place terminal for approx. $9./day. I've also checked cruisepark.com which is more expensive and requires a shuttle ride to cruise terminal. Any ideas or suggestions on which is the better option? Anyone know if parking is readily available at Canada Place terminal? Cruisepark requires a prior reservation. We're inclined to go with the Canada Place parking but I worry that there might not be room. But then I worry about everything! Thanks, fellow cruisers.

We have parked at Canada Place several times when cruising to Alaska. I have never noticed the lot being closed because it was full. Very easy parking. Elevators right up to the check in area. We wouldn't think of parking anywhere else it's to convenient. Have a wonderful cruise. You will love the Volendam. I cruises Alaska on her in 2003.

Have you thought about booking a room at Pan Pacific and asking for a hotel/cruise package.
It sits right on top of the cruise terminal.
We did this last year and it was great!

Canada Place Parking is very good and very convenient. You can drive in, unload your bags to a porter, and drive right down to the lot. Then an elevator takes up to the terminal. After the cruise, our porter actually took our bags all the way down into the garage and right to our car! Of course he got a nice tip.

You can reserve the parking, although when we got there in July it seemed there was plenty available. Google canada place parking and you will find the reservation site.

Getting TO Canada Place is not so easy. Whatever you try, you will wind up going through a lot of surface city streets in Vancouver to get there.

Have a GREAT cruise!

I live in Vancouver and agree with you 200% about getting TO canada place. I don't even tempt that one I tell ya.

If you e-mail me, I can give you a much EASIER route to avoid most of the busy ONE WAY streets and the congested traffic of Vancovuer. :D

Check out Entertainment coupons for parking as well. If they offer anything, let me know. I have the book and would be more than happy to pass on the coupon since I will never use it.

Good luck.

Michelle

:) Thanks to all for the very helpful parking info and suggestions.

Michelle, thanks especially for the offer of easy directions ( and Entertainment coupon - when I checked the Entertainment website, there was no parking listed) but your e-mail address wasn't listed so how do I contact you for the directions. We will be coming North on I-5 which according to my Mapquest directions becomes Provincial Rt 99N.

Thanks, again.

No probs. I am working at the moment and will be home shortly. I will e-mail you with easier driving directions to Canada Place. If anything, you won't have to go through downtown van and fight will the traffic/pedestrians and not to mention those nasty one way streets.

Michelle

I meant to ask, are you planning any pre-post stay in Vancouver? The reason I ask is, I have TONS of Ent. coupons from our book that you can have if you wish.
Let me know and I can get them off to you within the next day or two.

Hi Michelle,

Sorry for taking so long to respond - the last couple of days have been (way too) busy. Thank you for your kind offer of coupons. Unfortunately, we will not spend any time, pre- or post- cruise, in Vancouver.

I made online reservations for Canada Place parking. Their driving directions seem explicit and concise so I'm assuming we should not have any problems.

Thank you so much for your generous offers and willingness to help. We are really looking forward to the cruise.
