We are traveling in 8/05 on the Carnival Inspiration with our children- their 1st time. What is the situation with getting bottled drinking water ??? Is it expensive on ships ?? I hate for them to drink soda all day long.

Yes bottled water is expensive, but there is nothing wrong with the water that comes out of the tap in your bathroom or any place else on the ship. In fact it is most likely purer and fresher than the expensive bottled stuff. Most of theose plastic bottles actually add harmful chemicals into the water.

I've had the water on the ship before and I didn't think it was bad at all, and I am a bottled water snob. The water bottles in your stateroom are rather expensive, I did take one on the shore excursion but other than that I drank the water on the ship.

And if you think about it....you are consuming a large amount of ship water every day. Coffee, tea, cooking, brushing teeth. The water should be just fine.

The water on the ship is from reverse osmosis, which is as pure if not more pure than bottled water.

But the big question is if the water is wet!

I bring my own bottled water, just as there are those who bring their own beer, wine and soda. There are places in visited ports and embarkation port where you can pick it up also.

My hubby and I both bring a water with us to travel and then we just keep filling it up with ship water. I pack an extra (empty bottle) in our carry on just in case of breakage or leakage but we fill up with ship water before all tours and shopping the towns. Have never had a problem with ship water. You should check into Dannon they have small 6-8 oz bottles that are easy to carry and "kid" size with a squirt top that screws closed and no leaking!! I would never drink the island waters but the ship has never given us a problem

UNTIL WE SAIL AGAIN.......

we brought some bottled water with us on the last cruise, and our room stewardess each day would put a couple of bottles in the ice bucket for us http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
